Join us for a dynamic presentation from Dr. O’Connor, also known as the "punk rock paleontologist," as she dives into the work of a paleontologist, how they understand extinct animals in surprising detail, and the life of SUE, the most complete adult T. rex currently known to science. 

📚Dr. Jingmai O’Connor will host a signing of her new children’s book, When Dinosaurs Conquered the Skies: The Incredible Story of Bird Evolution.

Copies of the book will be on sale at the Institute’s Science Shop.

Spring into Science | March 28 - 31

Discover all the Institute has to offer during spring break! Spring into Science is a week of learning about environmental stewardship and the world around us. Visitors can enjoy a variety of water-themed, hands-on activities with our local partners through exploration and demonstrations about Michigan water, ecosystems, animals, and more. Activities are FREE with the purchase of a general admission ticket.

Water After Dark | 21+ | March 30

Explore the Institute after dark during an immersive, adult-only event! Enjoy an evening of exploring Michigan's waterways and environment through demos, activities, and even a special planetarium show: Great Lakes Effect. Plus, visitors can enjoy a selection of craft beer and wine.
