Rabbi Silvestri's Round Up
|
This week’s parsha, Parshat Tezaveh, concludes the two volume discussion of the construction of the Mishkan, the Tabernacle, and the clothing of the Kohen and Kohen Gadol, the priest and high priest. For two weeks we hear of the intricate designs, materials, construction and meticulous work that is shared with Moshe by Hashem in how to construct the Mishkan and all of the clothing that the Kohanim, the priests, were to wear when serving in the Mishkan.

GrowTorah Garden
We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with GrowTorah. GrowTorah develops garden-based experiential and environmental Torah education programs for Jewish day schools. Through this partnership, our students and the broader RMBA community will cultivate a more sustainable future driven by Torah values. Over the summer, our team will build a new educational garden with GrowTorah’s guidance. Even the design is infused with Torah pedagogy; focusing on the core values of incubating emunah, environmental stewardship, compassion for creatures, and living Tzedakah. We will begin rolling out the GrowTorah curriculum with all of our students in the Fall, bringing them to our outdoor classroom to explore the Torah relationships between humans, the earth, and our fellow creatures. Our teachers will teach lessons from the Parsha in the garden while tending to this little slice of Hashem’s beautiful world.

Additionally, they each created their own Choshen Mishpat (Breastplate of Judgement) after learning about the Bigdei Kohanim (kohanim's clothes) in this week’s Parshat Tetzaveh.
