From the Director

Friends,

With a new year, comes new opportunities.  By the end of January, sometime the shine has rubbed off a little and the challenges become clear.  Yet the opportunity to make a difference, the opportunity to "enter the arena", is always there.

This newsletter issue provides both a quick look back at some of the success at the Center during 2020 and some exciting new opportunities in 2021:
  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Development
  • Kanas Museum Association Conference
  • Wichita Historical Museum Strategic Plan
  • Kansas Health Foundation Literacy Grant
  • Veterans Conference
  • Integrated Data Plan
  • City Clerk Conference
  • Mental Health
  • County Clerk Institute/Academy
  • Salary Studies
  • Workforce Conference
  • Strategic Plans
  • Community Surveys
  • Supervisor Training Series
  • Leadership Development

We appreciate your continued support of our work and more importantly, we appreciate your service to your communities.  Here's to 11 more months to change the world for the better.

Best Wishes,

Misty Bruckner

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Update

We Remain Committed.

The PPMC has given thought to how or what we can do to be part of the solution of change for equity and inclusion. We ask ourselves, "What is our role in helping organizations and communities address systemic racism, exclusion and inequity? How do we help move beyond words of outrage to actions of impact?" The short answer is we are not sure AND we are committed to figuring it out.

This month we spent time reflecting and discussing:

From NPR's Gene Demby, Natalie Escobar, and Sarah Kate Kramer
