HEAL Cohorts Graduate!

Congratulation to our HEAL graduates who finished the HEAL Advocacy and Leadership Training this summer.

The graduation was a vibrant opportunity for experienced and new HEAL members to gather since the beginning of the pandemic. The meeting of new and old friends shaped the atmosphere of the celebration. Vista Councilmember Contreras and Councilmember Melendez honored the event by attending.

MTS Launches PRONTO - Free in September

Starting September 1, MTS and NCTD riders can use the new regional fare system, PRONTO. PRONTO will replace the Compass Card and Cloud systems entirely, offering riders a better payment experience when choosing transit.

To celebrate the launch of PRONTO, riders who get a PRONTO card or the mobile app in advance will ride MTS free* in September (yes, a full month of free transit!). Learn more below.
Connecting San Diego’s Justice and Homeless Systems: 
Educational Workshops for Homeless Service Providers 

Recognizing the impact of criminal legal system involvement on the cycle of housing instability, homelessness, and incarceration, the Regional Task Force on Homelessness has partnered with Homebase, a technical assistance provider through HUD, to present an educational workshop series for all homeless service providers. 

The workshops will be held between September-November, with the initial training on Thursday, August 26th, 1-2:30 p.m.

Housing Help San Diego is a one-stop resource supporting San Diegans struggling to pay rent, stay housed, and understand their housing rights during the COVID-19 pandemic.

City of Chula Vista Emergency Rental Assistance Program


The City of Chula Vista’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) helps eligible households in the City of Chula Vista who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides payment assistance for renters who need help with rent and utilities.
