City Announcements and Events
The dazzling Glendale Glitters lights are up and will be ready to shine during this upcoming holiday season. We’re excited for everyone to come to downtown Glendale and walk around while enjoying our spectacular display of 1.7 million lights, illuminating 16 blocks. The lights will twinkle nightly from
5 p.m. – 10 p.m. starting 11/25/2020 through 1/9/2021.

The Arizona Coyotes and the Arizona Coyotes Foundation are proud to launch a Virtual 5k this Howliday Season! The Arizona Coyotes Foundation is teaming up with The Salvation Army to help "Rescue Christmas" for families in need in the West Valley.

Your registration fee will support the Arizona Coyotes Foundation and our partnership with the Salvation Army to Rescue Christmas.
Glendale’s recycling program is one way for residents to help conserve natural resources and extend the life of the landfill by diverting recyclables out of the waste stream. Recycling is the process of collecting materials destined for disposal and reprocessing or remanufacturing them for further use. 
  • Streets north of Northern Avenue to Royal Palm Road, between 57th Avenue and 59th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to tentatively take place December 2020 pending favorable weather conditions.
  • 53rd Avenue, Northern Avenue to Butler Drive – Slurry Seal application to tentatively take place December 2020 pending favorable weather conditions.
  • Streets between Butler Drive and Barbara Avenue, between 51st Avenue and 53rd Avenue – Slurry Seal application to tentatively take place December 2020 pending favorable weather conditions.
  • Royal Palm Road, 59th Avenue to 63rd Avenue – Slurry Seal application to tentatively take place December 2020 pending favorable weather conditions.

Autumn Seed Library
The Seed Library allows adults to "check out" and keep up to three different types of seeds every seven days. Seed packets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and holds are not allowed. Stop by any of our four locations to select the perfect seeds for your garden.

I introduced an idea designed to remind drivers of the importance of driving safely on neighborhood streets. 
They are 18" x 24" signs, red on one side and yellow on the other.
