Student Spotlight - Carlos Sosa
Hello fellow Raiders,

My name is Carlos Sosa and I am an international student from Guatemala. I came to WSU in August 2021 to pursue a Master's degree in Marketing Analytics. I am looking forward to a wonderful learning experience!

So far I have been able to meet many people and make new friends here, which is really nice because I didn't know anyone before arriving. I can confidently say that international students are truly welcome here at Wright State.

I would like to encourage other international students to be involved on campus as much as they can. Go to your in-person classes, turn on your camera for virtual classes, be a familiar face on campus! As international students, we naturally stand out because we look different, speak other languages, etc. Let your uniqueness be a reason to shine (enjoy being in the spotlight) and always represent your country well.

National Holidays Spotlight
National Taco Day – October 4, 2021

Consider National Taco Day, October 4 every year, a concentrated and intensified version of the “Taco Tuesdays” many restaurants offer in a bid to bring in Happy Hour-like crowds. Come to think of it, to further whet your appetite for the subject, get this: the phrase “Taco Tuesday” was actually trademarked across the country in 1989 by a Wyoming-based fast-food chain called Taco John’s.
