RASH FIELD MURAL PROJECT
Request for Proposals
In collaboration with Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, BOPA seeks to commission a professional visual artist to produce unique, original mural artwork designs for implementation in the new Rash Field Café at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. This opportunity is open to emerging and professional artists residing in the City of Baltimore. The selected artist/artist team will receive a commission of $17,000 to complete their design. All applications must be received by 5:00 p.m., October 11, 2021.
LOCAL PLAYWRIGHTS WANTED
For a Collaborative Project with Single Carrot
Single Carrot Theatre is currently seeking dynamic and collaborative playwrights to create one act plays for Unmarked. This project is specifically geared toward building connections between historical research of the gravesites and the Civil War and Reconstruction Era, and cultivating a relationship to history and place for neighborhood residents. Playwrights do not have to be currently based in Baltimore, however they should have a connection to Baltimore and ability to travel to Baltimore for in-person activities (travel reimbursement available). Selected playwrights will receive a commission fee of $1,000. The deadline to apply is October 3, 2021.
CASTING EXTRAS FOR NETFLIX FILM
Looking for Black Men in the DMV Area
Rose Locke Casting is still booking extras for the feature film RUSTIN, produced by Barack Obama's production company, Higher Ground Productions. They are currently looking for Black men in the DMV area to recreate the historic 1963 March on Washington. ART SHOWS IN SOUTHERN MARYLAND
Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center
Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites emerging and established artists to submit original artworks to the Holiday Show & Sale exhibition to take place November 5, 2021 through January 1, 2022 in the Main Gallery of the Murray Arts Building. All media will be considered, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, glass, fiber, digital, photography, and mixed media. Artists can also apply to the 14th Annual Ornament Show & Sale to take place November 5, 2021 through January 1, 2022 in the Main Gallery of the Murray Arts Building. This exhibition will run concurrently with the annual, award-winning holiday light show, Annmarie Garden in Lights, and with the Holiday Show & Sale exhibition. IT'S A SNAP! PHOTO CONTEST
Take Your Best Shot
Whether you are an aspiring photojournalist or an avid shutterbug, here’s your chance to share your special photographs that reveal the best of Baltimore. Winning photographers will receive prizes, and the best images will be showcased on Baltimore National Heritage Area's social media channels and a special promotional product in 2022. Photographs must be taken within the Baltimore National Heritage Area. All hi-res entries must be submitted electronically. See complete guidelines below. The deadline to submit is October 29, 2021.
AAPI ART CONTEST
Submissions Are Open for Round 2
The Asian Pasifika Arts Collective is officially reopening submissions to its East Coast AAPI Art Contest. All East Coast AAPI Artists and Art Students between the ages of 1826 are eligible to enter. Cash Prize for this year's top three finalists are: 1st Place - $400, 2nd Place - $300, and 3rd Place - $200. (If you have already submitted your work in Round 1, you are still 100% eligible and currently entered in the contest.) For more information, click below. IMAGINE HOPE INITIATIVE
Art Can Heal and Raise the Human Spirit
Center for Hope, a comprehensive violence intervention & prevention center based in Baltimore, is looking to fill its 32,000-square-foot, soon-to-be new building with art that brings hope and healing to people of all ages who have experienced trauma. Each selected piece will have a nameplate identifying the artist and title. Art may be used in Center for Hope websites, media coverage, social platforms, publications, and commemorative art books. Selected artists will be invited to a fall 2022 reception. CALLING ALL PLAYWRIGHTS
Submissions Open for 10-Minute Play Festival
Fells Point Corner Theatre is seeking original 10-minute plays by Baltimore-area playwrights for its critically-acclaimed annual 10x10x10 Play Festival. Ten plays will be selected for production in the spring of 2022. 10x10x10 is a huge crowd-pleaser, and audience members are invited to vote for their top three favorites. Votes will be tallied throughout the run and the winning playwrights receive cash prizes. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. on November 15, 2021. Scholastic Awards Open for Entry
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 712. Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Awards look for work demonstrating originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Through the Awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. For BOPA's Art In Action Arts Education Grants
BOPA's Arts In Action Arts Education Grants are designed for individual teaching artists and community arts organizations to support arts education projects or classes that take place in-school, after school, or in local community settings. Grants ranging from $1000–5,000 are available to teaching artists and nonprofit organizations.

Applications will open Monday, October 18. The deadline to apply is Friday, December 3.
