In late September, the Clerk’s Office will send absentee ballots to all residents who have requested them. The Clerk's Office will then continue to mail absentee ballots as new requests come in. If you would like to request an absentee ballot for the November 3, 2020 general election and have not yet done so, please visit mi.gov/vote or return your absentee ballot application to the drop box at City Hall.
The Clerk’s Office is happy to announce a new absentee ballot drop box will be coming soon! For your convenience, the box will be located at City Hall near the driveway entrance off of Henrietta. You will be able to simply drive up, deposit your ballot or ballot application, and be on your way.
If you prefer to mail your ballot, the postage is on us. All absentee ballots will have postage included on their return envelopes. The Clerk’s Office strongly encourages you to mail your ballot as soon as possible to ensure it is received by Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
Precinct Location Change
Precinct 6 voters who typically vote at City Hall will be directed to the Community House. This change was made because there is more room at the Community House to safely accommodate voters.
Important Dates for the November Election:
• September 18 – View the ballot at mi.gov/vote around September 18, 2020
• Late September – Absentee ballots will be mailed to requesting voters
• October 19 – Last day to register to vote online or by mail
• October 20 through November 3 – Unregistered voters must schedule an appointment to register in person with the Clerk’s Office.
• October 30 by 5 p.m. – Last day to request an absentee ballot by mail.
• Curbside voting will be available two weeks before the election (October 19-November 2) by appointment. No curbside voting will be done on Election Day; voters will vote in their assigned precinct.
• November 2 at 4 p.m. – Deadline for issuing any absentee ballots
• November 3 – State General Election – Polls are open 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
• November 3 by 8 p.m. – Deadline for all absentee ballots to be received and processed. Any absentee ballots received after 8 p.m. on Election Day will not be counted.
