#28: Editing Backgrounds
Dear Yearbook Advisor, 

As we navigate through our new normal of virtual learning and living at a distance, we understand our schools are facing many new challenges. Entourage is committed to making your yearbook process as simple and easy as possible with the use of new resources and technology!

If you have tried editing your background by dropping the opacity or flipping it horizontally or vertically, you will notice that you may not be able to select it. That is because the Background is on it's own separate layer and you will need to be in Background Layer to make changes to your background. 

In this hint, you will learn how to edit or delete your background once it is placed by clicking the Layers button in the designer

If you are designing your page and realize you would like to edit your background (such as deceasing opacity or flipping it horizontally), you will have to go to  Background Layer.  



To access the Background Layer , click on the Layers button on the left hand side of the designer. From here you will see the layer options, click Toggle Background Layer Only.

Once you click on the Toggle Background Layer only, you will see that only your background will show and certain tools that do not apply will be grayed out. You can select the background at this point to either delete it or make changes to it.





** There will be a large green box in the upper right to indicate when in the Background Layer.**
Now that you are able to access  Background Layer you may be asking "What kind of editing can I do?" Here are some edits you can apply to your background:

To access editing tools for your background (or any image) you can use the Transform menu. Click on the background and go to Frame on the top toolbar of the designer.

Then go down to Transform to access the functionality to flip an image, change the fit, opacity, and shape of an image box, or rotate 90 degrees at a time.

These items are also still available in their old locations in the Photo and Frame Settings tab located on the right hand side of the designer.

You can also crop the image inside the frame using the Crop / Edit button in the blue quick menu.
