"As you may know, the Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) as part of the Ontario Trillium Foundation recently announced they would only be accepting one shortlisted grassroots group application per Organizational Mentor per application round. If your work or the work of a youth-led group you know have been impacted by this changed, please get in touch (action@headwaterscommunities.org). An active group of organizations who are Organizational Mentors for grassroots groups is working to create a short advocacy video as a way to shine a spotlight on the impact of this decision. They are specifically looking for a rural, youth-led example from our area. If this is you: Would you be interested in sharing a short video (30 seconds - 1 minute) of yourself talking about who your group is, what you're trying to do in your community, and how this decision impacts you?

The Goodman Center, in partnership with the organizations listed below, is proud to announce the release of our new report, “Unmuted: What works, what doesn't, and how we can all do better when working together online.”

Based on a survey of 4,405 people at nonprofits and foundations, colleges and universities, and government agencies (including you), “Unmuted” examines the explosion of videoconferencing triggered by the pandemic and addresses the question: What’s really happening when working together face-to-face means screen-to-screen?

As the title suggests, by pressing “unmute” and letting thousands of people sound off about their daily experiences in videoconferences, the report has identified best practices worth emulating along with persistent problems that require attention. “Unmuted” is divided into nine sections focused on specific aspects of videoconferences such as structure, leadership and facilitation, engagement techniques, and more; and each section includes data-driven recommendations for improving your videoconferences going forward.

When you took the survey, we promised you a free copy, so click here to download yours right now. And thanks again for participating.

We couldn’t have done this without you!
