The mission of KLRN is to open a world of lifelong learning through trustworthy and enriching programs on-air, online and in our community.
Dear Educators,

This month, we are celebrating Indigenous Peoples' heritage. Heritage is made of many things: family, traditions, food, stories, art, spirituality, ways of life, and so much more. Using the resources below, as well as PBS LearningMedia's Circle of Stories and We'wha lessons, we invite you to learn more about the people whose stories are both a foundational part of our nation’s history and a reflection of the collective oneness we share.

We are offering a variety of teacher training sessions throughout the month. As always, all of our educator trainings are free and offer continuing education credits. We are glad to be a resource for high quality educational media.

And, on October 23rd, we'll host our KLRN Kids Fall Festival at Mission Marquee Plaza! We hope you'll spread the word to your students and their families!

Please reach out to us at any time at education@klrn.org. We are here for you.

WATT WATCHERS HIGHLIGHT
In your own classroom, you can show a small example of what happens to all of that recycled paper produced by the school. Students have the opportunity to become part of the “recycle” process by breaking down used paper and recreating a new, usable product from the waste. This activity can be messy, as students produce paper pulp and then dry it to new sheets of paper. The instructions recommend to dry paper outside for the best results.

When Muhammad Ali (then Cassius Clay) was twelve years old, a thief stole his new red bicycle. Clay’s stolen bike became a catalyst for his boxing career and illustrates by example how Clay found his purpose in life at an early age.

In this session, middle and high school educators will learn how to encourage youth to share their own Red Bike Moments.
