Read Beyond the Beyond the Beaten Path | All Ages | June 29-August 10
Summer Reading is around the corner! We will once again offer in-person and virtual challenge options for kids, teens, and adults. Imagine the smell of marshmallows roasting over a campfire, the sound of wind whispering through the pines, and the thrill of summer camp.

This year, when you register, you get a FREE BOOK. Registration opens on June 29 at noon - kids, be sure to stop by the Children's Room to snag your summer reading book bag including items your child can use to be a Camp Ventress Kids Camper! Participants may register throughout the summer until the last day of summer reading. Please note that additional information applies for the kids challenge. Summer Reading Loot Bags for Grades 3-12
We will be offering our popular Loot Bags with three awesome camp themes this summer. Our June theme is Camp iRead, the official library "camp" - with camp-themed goodies that will be totally awesome. Our July theme is Camp Walden (the fancy camp from The Parent Trap), and our August theme is Camp Half-Blood (for all the Percy Jackson stans out there!). Registration for each bag runs from the first to the last of each month. Sign up for the June bag today.

Parisian Thoroughfare Jazz Concert - rescheduled | VML Cultural Series

The Ventress Memorial Library children’s room is excited to welcome June and a new Scavenger Hunt! Our usual programing will be on hold while we get ready for an exciting summer full of special programming and events. June 1 | 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
"Goonies never say die." Join us for a showing of The Goonies in Library Plaza, with popcorn from our popcorn machine. No registration required.

June 4 | 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Listen to tales and songs from Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This program is funded by the Marshfield Cultural Council. No Registration required.

How to Bake a Universe | best for ages 5+
June 15 | 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Calling all cosmic chefs! Author Alec Carvlin will be reading his debut picture book, How to Bake a Universe! Kids will get to ask questions and decorate their own cosmic sunglasses. No Registration required.

Read to Rocko the Dog* | all ages
June 21 | fifteen minutes slots from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Come to the library to read to a dog! Rocko will be with us for two hours, and each child will have a separate slot to read to our furry friend. No registration required, slots will be given on a first come first served basis per family.

June 22 | 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Come for a meet and greet at the library with Local Author and Marshfield Middle School Teacher Chris Casavant! Chris will have signed copies of his new book The Greatest Cause of Mia Dubois available for purchase.

June 29 | 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The summer reading excitement begins with a visit from Animal World Experience! We will be learning about and later touching all kinds of fun animals! Please join us for the whole program! No registration required.

We will be offering a short six-session campaign as well as several standalone games. Dates TBA. Registration for our in-person D&D campaign will open on Friday, June 17. Stay tuned!

This summer-long super dungeon event is hosted by Belmont Public Library in Belmont, MA, and is open to players across the country. Virtual Character Creation Workshops will be held in June. You can play with any of the 10+ DMs throughout the duration of the event.

Become a Teen Volunteer | grades 7-12
Teen Volunteers also sit on our Teen Leaders Council. We accept teen volunteer applications on a rolling basis. Apply to Volunteer
Tinker, play, and make something new at The Wave Makerspace. There's a little something for everyone, whether you're an older kid, teen, or an adult. Drop-in hours are suspended for the month of June, but we are open for scheduled appointments. Schedule a Makerspace Appointment
