Jeff's Jottings
As the calendar turns to September, we send along our best wishes to all the members of the Wenonah community for a safe, happy, and successful school year. We will continue with the planning for OUR GREATEST CAMPING SEASON EVER IN 2021 and look forward to sharing updates on a monthly basis with the Clear Lake Chronicle as we move through the remainder of 2020 and into 2021.
We have been absolutely overwhelmed, since the decision was made by Ontario's Premier in May to close all overnight camps in the province for the 2020 season, by the support from everyone in our vast community. Over 300 families joined the new Wenonah Champions Circle. Registration for the 2021 season broke all records with over 90% capacity reached in just eight short weeks. A dedicated group of alumni have both provided long term sustainability funds for Wenonah and contributed onsite to ongoing repairs and maintenance as well as new initiatives. Needless to say, we are in terrific shape for the 2021 season and can't wait to share the ongoing excitement as we count down to next Summer!
For now, the most sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone for your support, enthusiasm and ongoing belief in Wenonah. We are truly blessed.

We're 90% FULL for Summer 2021!
Since the start of July, long-time Camp families and new Camp families alike have said "Yes!" to the 2021 Summer Camp season at Wenonah. We are now 90% full for the 2021 Summer Camp season, and we're looking forward to the best year at Camp yet!
And, of course, 2020 registered families continue to save by paying 2020 rates for 2021 Summer Camp spots. 2020 registered families received our discount code in the July 29 and August 5 editions of the Wenonah Weekly. Can't find the code? Just email us!

Upcoming Payment Due Dates
Already registered for the 2021 Summer Camp season? Please keep in mind these payment due dates:
- If you chose to save on your Camp fees by selecting the Priority Fee as your payment option, please remember that your full fees are due by September 15.
- For families that chose the Priority Fee Installment Plan option, don't forget that your deposit ($400 per camper per week) was due immediately upon submission of your Summer Camp application. Your next two installments are due on December 15 and February 15.
- For families who chose the Regular Fee payment option, deposits were due immediately when you submitted your application and your balance is due on April 1.
Payments can be made by e-transfer (sent to [email protected]) or cheque / money order (payable to Camp Wenonah).

Congratulations Aki - 2020 Wenonah Games Challenge Cup Winner
An eventful Summer of virtual Wenonah Games events culminated in a live announcement of the winner of the Challenge Cup by Jeff on Instagram and Facebook.
Congratulations to Aki on their Challenge Cup win! Dawaa finished a close second and Zibbins placed a strong third. Kudos and high fives to the participants from each House who brought such enthusiasm, energy, and great teamwork to the table throughout our virtual Wenonah Games.
The season of virtual Wenonah Games featured lots of fun and creativity as campers, ROOTS, POLARIS, and WCITs participated in events at home. Events included frisbee archery, fort building, mini golf, and balloon juggling, as well as a series of bonus events.
The final Challenge Cup standings are:
1. Aki - 150 points
2. Dawaa - 140 points
3. Zibbins - 100 points

Virtually Awesome - Thanks for a great Summer!
Throughout the Summer, campers, ROOTS, POLARIS, and WCITs gathered online for fun activities and programs facilitated by the remarkable Wenonah staff team.
As much as we all wanted to be at Wenonah together this Summer, our Virtually Awesome online program helped fill the void of a Summer without Camp. Whether singing along at a virtual campfire, enjoying a games night with friends, testing our knowledge during an evening of trivia, or designing commemorative POLARIS and WCIT sweatshirts, there was lots of fun to be had online throughout July and August.
As we know, it takes a talented and committed team of staff to make Camp happen. And virtual Camp programming is no different! Huge thanks to JJ, Woody and Jason for their leadership of our virtual programming throughout the Summer.

Summer 2020 Canoe Ballet
To mark what would have been the final evening of August Camp, several folks from our Friends Of Wenonah (FOW) alumni group gathered at Camp to perform a very special Canoe Ballet.
The final evening of July Camp and August Camp can be memorable and emotional. Traditions include some favourite songs (Candle on the Water, Fire Is Low, I Must Be On My Way), other special performances from campers, leadership participants, and staff members, a slideshow, and candlelight ceremony.
Of course, the Canoe Ballet is a highlight of the evening, as campers and staff paddle canoes and perform a routine set to specially selected music performed live. It is always unforgettable.
The Summer 2020 Canoe Ballet was shown live on Instagram and Facebook at the same time as it would have been performed at Camp.
