Last Chance to Register for our Halloween Party 10/30! |
Drop the kids off with us for an afternoon of Halloween fun! Children will participate in a themed craft, "trick or treating," a spooky locker room walk-through, and games! Children are encouraged to wear a Halloween costume. Mask/face covering required for all participants, parents/guardians/visitors, and staff. Social distancing protocols will be in effect! Parent/guardian(s) must show photo ID at pick-up.
Ages: 4-13 years old
Time: We're open 2:45-6:00pm, but most of the festivities will take place between 3:30 and 5:30pm.
Cost: $10 per child (Jefferson Kids Club Full-Time members & those with a Friday membership do not need to pay additional)

Tuesday, November 3 - Superintendent Conference Day/Election Day - JYC open 8:00am-6:00pm*
Wednesday, November 11 - Veterans Day - JYC open 8:00am-6:00pm*
Friday, November 27 - Thanksgiving Break - JYC open 7:00am-7:00pm**
*Vacation Club fee applies - separate registration required two weeks in advance. Must bring own lunch, snack(s), water bottle, and clothes for outdoor/gym play. Please label all belongings.

Drop the kids off with us for the day so you can shop till you drop or clean up the house from your big Thanksgiving dinner! Children will participate in sports, games, arts & crafts, enrichment activities, and more. We will provide donuts, pizza, and on-site entertainment. Please send your child with a water bottle, snack(s), sneakers, and clothes appropriate for outdoor/gym play. If your child cannot have donuts or pizza, please send them with an alternative and alert staff at drop-off. Please label all belongings! Parent/guardian(s) must show photo ID at pick-up. Masks required for all participants, visitors, and staff.

Time: We’re open 7am-7pm; parent/guardian(s) can drop-off/pick-up anytime during that time frame

All activities listed take place at the former Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, 250 Athens Blvd. Please park in the lot on Oakvale and enter at the door designated in program description below. Check in at the security desk in the hallway. Participants and parent/guardian(s) must wear mask and go through our health screening process. Sponsor t-shirt provided.
Registration: Must register in advance online at www.ttypr.com, or at the Youth, Parks & Recreation office. No walk-ins. We must meet a minimum number of registrants in order to run each program.

Start Smart Move & Play
The Start Smart Move and Play program is a developmentally appropriate introductory fine and gross motor skills program for children ages 2-3. Developing these motor skills in a safe, fun, and age appropriate environment will ensure that the participants gain strength and confidence in their body. It will help them get exercise and physical activity. Finally, developing these skills will help a child’s ability to do more complex skills in future activities, whether it’s playing a sport, doing school projects or drawing/painting. Parent/guardian must participate.
Dates: Saturdays, October 31-December 19
Time: 9:45-10:45am
Cost: $40 for residents for 8-week session, $50 for non-residents

Start Smart Basketball
Start Smart Basketball is a developmentally appropriate introductory basketball program for children ages 4-7. This six-week program prepares children and their parents for organized basketball in a fun, non-threatening environment. Age-appropriate equipment is used in teaching dribbling/ball handling, passing/catching, shooting, and running/agility. Includes basketball and participant manual. Parent/guardian must participate (this is not a drop-off program). Parent volunteers needed!
Session 1: Saturdays, November 7-December 19 (no instruction 11/28—Open Gym)
Time: 9:00-10:00am for ages 4-5; 10:30-11:30am for ages 6-7
Cost: $50 for residents for 6-week session; $60 for non-residents

We are pleased to announce the Jefferson Youth Center Scholarship Program. Please review the strict qualification guidelines below. Applications are due in their entirety (including necessary financial documentation) AT LEAST ten business days prior to your child's desired start date. If you are interested in sending your child to Kids Club for more than one month, please submit just one application, with your registration form attached. We will review applications on a rolling basis and notify you if we are able to provide you with financial assistance, and the level of funding we are able to provide. If any payment is required by you, you would need to submit payment within five days of notification.
Please note there are limited funds available so we encourage submitting an application ASAP.
Qualifying Household Income Limits (per HUD regulations):
1 person - $43,500
2 persons - $49,700
3 persons - $55,900
4 persons - $62,100
5 persons - $67,100
6 persons - $72,050
7 persons - $77,050
8 persons - $82,000
If you have already been awarded a scholarship, please email your November registration form(s) to Nicole at nfields@tonawanda.ny.us by October 29 so we can configure your account accordingly. You will be emailed a bill for the remaining portion due.

Your child cannot attend until their membership has been paid, per Town policy.

- Check by mail to the Town of Tonawanda Youth, Parks, and Recreation office (please indicate child’s name and month on check memo line).

- We cannot accept monthly membership fees over the phone. We do not offer EFT/ACH payments at this time for the JYC.

- Children, parents/guardians, staff, and vendors will need to wear a mask while at the youth center (this includes drop-off and pick-up!).
- Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we cannot accommodate last minute registrations. We need to be able to plan and staff properly, now more than ever. Please obtain your child's membership at least a week in advance of their first day.
- Please remember to stay a safe distance (at least 6 feet) from others. Let’s all be as safe as possible.
- Sorry, but we cannot allow use of our restroom or entry into our facility beyond the security desk without a scheduled appointment, meeting, or tour.
