CISDR Selected as Partner of the Year
by Women of AT&T Dallas Chapter
Thank you to Women of AT&T Dallas Chapter (WOA Dallas) for selecting Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region (CISDR) as their 2020 Partner of the Year. Every year, WOA Dallas awards college scholarships to several of our graduating seniors, with 16 students receiving scholarships in 2020. We are thankful for their ongoing volunteerism and financial support, and honored to receive this award as an organization. Thank you, WOA Dallas, for everything you do for students across the Dallas region!
CISDR Helps Lake Highlands Family with COVID-19
When a Lake Highlands High School family was dealing with COVID-19 earlier this fall, Site Coordinator Alma Camarena moved to action. With the father in the hospital and the mother and children in quarantine, Alma called Network of Communities Ministries and organized a truckload of emergency food and personal hygiene items to be securely delivered to the family. The children were so happy and excited to help their mom take the items into their house. Thanks to Alma for doing her part to help our students and families in this ongoing pandemic!
The Ennis Daily News Profiles CISDR's Ennis Team
We were pleased to receive a hometown welcome from The Ennis Daily News, who recently ran a front-page article welcoming CISDR Site Coordinators Tarrah Smith, Bryce George, and Patrice Jackson to Ennis ISD. Tarrah is serving at Dorie Miller Intermediate, Bryce is at Jack Lummus Intermediate, and Patrice is at Ennis Junior High. We are excited to be a part of the Ennis community!
