WHEN YOUR STUDENT IS SICK

The Washington Department of Health recently updated its guidance regarding returning to school if symptoms are present. Please refer to this updated guidance flowchart. The primary change is that symptoms have two broad categories. If a student has only ONE symptom from the list on the right and it resolves within 24 hours, a negative COVID test is not required to return to school. If in doubt, our staff is able to provide guidance on the flowchart. Nurse News has additional information about the requirement for students and staff to have a negative COVID test to return to school. Contact the IS Main Office or IS Nurse, Sarah Kim for questions.
