Worship Service Information
We are delighted to be able to worship once again in the sanctuary at Old North Church. We are mindful that the recent surge in COVID cases in and around Marblehead requires our sustained vigilance and willingness to follow the recommendations and protocols from public health officials.
We are now meeting in-person for worship at 10am in the Sanctuary. Since the health and safety of all our members and friends is of paramount importance, we are requiring face masks and social distancing for those attending. We ask that those who are unvaccinated continue to worship with us online rather than in person.
The 10am service includes music provided by our soloists. The sanctuary windows will be open and fans will be assisting with ventilation. Children of all ages are welcome to attend our worship services with their families, but must be masked if 2 years old or above. There will be outdoor Sunday school once a month.
Please note that no nursery care is being provided during our services.
In-person worship services will continue at the Lighthouse at 8am on Sunday mornings through the end of October. We will continue to post videos of our weekly worship services on our YouTube channel (Old North Church Marblehead) and on Facebook (Friends of Old North Church, Marblehead). The videos will be posted on Sunday afternoons.
We look forward to seeing you in church, however you feel most comfortable joining us!

Bible Study on Paul Continues This Sunday at 11:15
You are welcome to join our Bible study on Paul each Sunday at 11:15--whether you've come to previous sessions or not.
Paul wrote most of the New Testament, but many of us have little familiarity with his life and teachings. Join together for a Bible study on Paul where we will read a book about Paul: “Paul: A Very Short Introduction” by E. P. Sanders, alongside biblical passages he wrote.
We will meet outside on the patio at 8 Stacey Street (our church offices) or in a well-ventilated room with masks on.

Please meet outside in front of ONC. Contributions to benefit the church are welcome.
No RSVP is necessary, but helpful if cancellation for rain is necessary.

Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Come one, come all (kids and grandparents too) to the first ONC Halloween Scavenger Hunt! We'll all meet at 1:30 pm on Halloween, Sunday October 31, at the Stacy Street Building to get your first clue to the hunt. The game course (less than 2 miles) will take place in downtown Marblehead, each team starting with a unique clue that will take yit to a well-known location, with another clue there, and so on until you return to the church. The first team to win gets first crack at cider and cookies. Costumes and scary masks are optional but highly encouraged. PS - Each team will need at least one phone with picture-taking capability. Please RSVP by October 24th to marcia.bennet@verizon.net.

Announcements from Music at Old North
COME ONE! COME ALL! Join us on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, for a maritime voyage on the high seas with Gloucester resident David Coffin, nationally acclaimed for his captivating presentations of Sea Chanteys and Whaling Songs! Well known as the Master of Ceremonies for the annual Christmas Revels, David’s extraordinary baritone voice and his impressive collection of musical instruments – including concertinas, recorders, penny-whistles, bombards, gemshorns, cornamuse, shawm, rauschphieffe, or, as he notes “generally anything that requires a lot of hot air” – is sure to delight! David’s musical family is impressive: his father, Reverend William Sloane Coffin, studied to be a concert pianist with Nadia Boulanger in Paris, and his grandfather was pianist Arthur Rubinstein!
SAVE THE DATE! On Wednesday, October 27, from 7:30-8:30pm, pianist Jacqueline Schwab, noted for her evocative playing on the sound tracks of documentary film maker Ken Burns’ Civil War (Grammy award), Baseball, Mark Twain, Frank Lloyd Wright, The War and others, will perform some piano solos and lead the group in a sing-along.
These very special programs are offered as part of the Wednesday night Festival Chorus “Fall Sessions” taking place at Old North from 7:30-8:30pm. Doors open at 7pm; entrance is through the Parish Hall. All in attendance must show proof of vaccination, wear tight-fitting masks, and remain distanced in the sanctuary pews. A free-will offering will be gratefully accepted at the door, with proceeds to help defray Festival Chorus expenses this season. It is not necessary to be a member of the Festival Chorus, the Old North Senior Choir, or Old North Church to attend!
