Stallions in the Spotlight
Congratulations to freshman Max Shulaw who recently was selected for the World All-Star Team (1st Team) for wrestling. This elite group is chosen and based primarily upon their performance in the Nation's big 3 wrestling events: The Kickoff Classic, Tulsa Nationals, and The Reno World Championships.
National Merit Semifinalist: Leah Vanasdale
The 2019 PSAT/NMSQT served as an initial screen of more than 1.5 million entrants to the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. The Selection Index scores of the students who met program participation requirements were used to designate a pool of about 16,000 Semifinalists on a state allocation basis. Semifinalists are the highest scorers in each of the 50 states and represent less than one percent of each state’s high school seniors. Although Semifinalist qualifying scores vary from one state to another, the scores of all Semifinalists are extremely high.
National Merit Commended Students: Vigo Bertolo, Mary Polemeni-McGovern, Evelyn Sarle
In late September, more than two-thirds (about 34,000) of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT received Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. Commended Students are named based on a nationally applied Selection Index score. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, some of these students do become candidates for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.

Spiritual Reflection
Heavenly Father, in your divine plan you sent forth your angels to participate in the great work of our salvation. Thank you for all that is done through the heavenly host on our behalf. May we eagerly follow their example of active participation in your salvific work, that we too may proclaim your glory and assist others along the journey to your heavenly kingdom. Amen.
