COVID-19: Updated Guidelines on Wearing Masks and Holiday Safety

As decisions to vaccinate and wear face coverings indoors drive down COVID-19 case rates and hospitalizations, health officers for the nine Bay Area jurisdictions that require face coverings in most indoor public spaces recently reached consensus on criteria to lift those health orders under certain conditions. More Support During Public Safety Power Shutoffs

Pacific Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison have expanded their partnership with 211 systems throughout California before, during and after Public Safety Power Shutoff events.

Customers can call or text 211 to connect with local resources, including home meal delivery, shelter and portable backup power.

Eviction Moratorium Continues in Alameda County

Tenants in Alameda County will continue to be protected from most evictions under the Alameda County Eviction Moratorium beyond September 30, 2021, though statewide protections ended on that date.

PG&E's Medical Baseline Program, also known as Medical Baseline Allowance, is an assistance program for residential customers who depend on power for certain medical and independent living needs.

AHIP (AIDS Housing Information Project)
AHIP (AIDS Housing Information Project) offers housing and human services resource referrals to People Living with HIV/AIDS via a designated phone line and through one-on-one, in-person assistance at clinics and AIDS Service Organizations.

Last month, AHIP completed 174 calls and 5 face-to-face meetings with clients, provided 524 housing referrals and 159 referrals to services. AHIP completed 3 site visits and assisted 5 clients with Coordinated Entry System navigation and document readiness. Year to date, AHIP has provided assistance to 197 unduplicated clients.

Partner Spotlight - Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, started as a way to connect and unite individuals and organizations working on domestic violence issues while raising awareness for those issues.

On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S. On a typical day, there are more than 20,000 phone calls placed to domestic violence hotlines nationwide.

Among the organizations that 211 connects survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking to:
