That's a wrap, 2021! Our community showed resilience and strength as we fought side-by-side to advance our asbestos prevention and policy efforts.
Every victory we achieved this year was made possible thanks to the hard work of our network of champions, including warriors, physicians, researchers, educators, public health advocates, labor union members, generous sponsors and more. Check out our 2021 thank you and list of accomplishments! We are pleased to launch our 2022 sponsorship program this month too.
We are extremely excited about 2022, and here are a few things you can expect from us:
-
At the start of the year, we will continue to meet with Members of Congress, Agencies, and staff in Washington, D.C. to urge transparency, accountability, a ban on asbestos, and a commitment to public health from our administration and Congressional leaders. We will continue to fight for Congress and the EPA to take action to ban asbestos and protect public health. Efforts to move the Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now Act remain strong.
-
In April we will support Global Asbestos Awareness Week April 1 - 7, 2022. We will share educational resources, real-life stories, and partner for prevention with our allies around the country and the world.
-
This quarter, we are finalizing our Zoom Conversations, adding to the 11 previous successful events with leading national and international experts.
-
We will continue the Mesothelioma Warrior Candle Lighting tradition: In honor and support, and in loving memory — we will continue to honor and uplift our loved ones. Please join us tomorrow as we light the last candle for Warriors.
ADAO's growth continues to reflect the development and progress we’ve made together as we work to advance national and global ban asbestos efforts. We excitedly look forward to continued shared success throughout 2022 and beyond.
Wishing you a healthy and happy New Year.
With gratitude,
Linda Reinstein
