On Friday, November 19, from 10-12 p.m., The Children's Trust will host a general session for all Trust-funded providers. We will share exciting updates coming to Trust Central including enhancements that will make your fiscal and programmatic data entry and access easier. The Provider Meeting will take place virtually. UM Team COACH: Finding Stress Management Strategies that Work for You *
Months of coping with the stressors of quarantines, social distancing, shutdowns, losses, grief, uncertainty, and anxiety are taking a toll on our emotional health. If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed, you are not alone! In this training, you will learn and practice several stress reduction strategies to calm your body and mind. These techniques may also be used with parents and families that you work with. Appropriate for front-line providers serving families.

Getting Fathers to be Involved in Parenting Programs
Involving fathers in parenting programs has positive effects on children’s learning and social-emotional development. However, in some instances, it can be difficult to recruit fathers or father figures into services and keep them engaged. In this course, you will learn about diverse family structures, including the importance of using an inclusive definition of "father"’ You will also learn practical strategies to recruit, engage, support and retain fathers and father figures in services.

This online training course is available on Trust Academy and is appropriate for family service direct program staff and administrators.

Communities of Practice for Parenting Program providers are back up and running! Join a community where members support one another, share best practices and deepen their knowledge. All of the following CoPs are currently being offered virtually and are appropriate for direct service providers and supervisors of Parenting Programs. If you have any questions or would like additional support, please contact teamcoach@miami.edu.

We know that this uncertain time may be challenging and overwhelming for providers. We believe that, as a community, we have the strength to support one another. During this time, our CoPs will contain extra discussion surrounding COVID-19 and the impact it’s having on your programs, relationships with families, etc.

Parent and Provider Stressors & Barriers - This CoP will be held on the first Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. In this CoP, we will discuss the stressors and barriers that both you as a provider, and the families you serve, face. We will also be identifying solutions, practicing these strategies and discussing the implementation of them into your practice. Click here to sign up or log in to Trust Academy!

Creating Support Networks & Community Outreach/Recruitment - This CoP will be held on the first Thursday of each month from 10-11 a.m. In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to create networks of outreach and referrals across parenting providers in the community and discuss program recruitment strategies. You will have the opportunity to get to know other community providers, share information, and support one another. Virtual recruitment will be an ongoing topic. Count Me In: Discovering Inclusion for Kids -learn fun, meaningful activities to do with your students to build their disability awareness, and encourage them to appreciate differences. This training helps develop Social-Emotional Skills for children.

Structures for Success - Youth both with and without disabilities can behave in challenging ways. Learn the seven basic needs youth exhibit and take away strategies for meeting these needs through positive, preventive approaches. This training is especially relevant to YEN and YAS Providers.

Volunteer Florida, responsible for managing AmeriCorps in the State of Florida, announced the 2022-2023 AmeriCorps funding request for proposals (RFP). Organizations interested in applying should respond to the RFP by Monday, November 1 at 5 p.m. (ET). AmeriCorps is the federal agency for national service and volunteering, and funding is administered by state service commissions like Volunteer Florida. FREE Workshop to Learn About the Fundamentals of Racial Equity
The Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida presents a workshop for participants to learn about the fundamentals of racial equity. The event will go over how systemic issues manifest within our sector and organizations, and how to mobilize resources to catalyze change. Regardless of the size, mission area, or previous training, this summit is suitable for all organizations and all roles, including board members and staff.

Family Day at the Underline, The Art of Nature
Bring the whole family to explore nature through interactive art, dance, music, and storytelling classes at Art of Nature, part of Family Day at The Underline! There are two programs and four class time slots each Saturday to choose from, take one or all of the 30-minute activities from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, October 16 at the Brickell Backyard Promenade, on SW 1 Ave between SW 10 and 8 Streets.
Family Day at the Underline, Building Blocks
Building Blocks is back as part of Family Day at The Underline! This pop-up life-sized Lego-esque playground will be available to play every third Saturday of the month starting October 16, from 2-4 p.m. at the Brickell Backyard Urban Gym on SW 1 Ave between SW 8 and SW 7 streets. The event is free but registration is required.
Free Financial Literacy Class Giving $5 for High Schoolers and Young Adults
Student Finance League is hosting free financial literacy classes and compensates $5 per class per participant. Ages high school through adult and in Miami. This is available to any organization, nonprofit, shelter, school, etc.

Available Mental Health Services for Low-Income Families
The Institute for Child and Family Health (ICFH) provides mental health services including Individual/family therapy and psychiatry for children and adolescents in Miami-Dade County. The institute accepts most Medicaid HMO’s and has funding for children of low-income families who do not have insurance. ICFH also provides individual/family therapy and psychiatry services for adults who have Medicaid.

Accountant at The Children's Trust *
This position is responsible for reviewing and critically analyzing financial information and provider documents within the framework of “Results-based Accountability (RBA)” and with an emphasis on maintaining quality internal control standards. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing, maintaining reviewing, and analyzing accounting records in accordance with The Children’s Trust (The Trust) accounting policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulations promulgated by the Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) and Government Auditing Standards.

Work performance is reviewed through conferences, reports, a mastery of the Services and Activities Management Information System (SAMIS) and observation of results achieved.
Communications Coordinator at The Children's Trust *
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Communications with the general administration of communication projects, vendor agreements and purchase orders, as well as with all the community outreach efforts. Work performed by the Communications Coordinator includes but is not limited to researching and obtaining bids for services or purchased goods, monitoring agreements and their terms of services and manages the Brand Ambassadors’ team. The incumbent has latitude to make informed decisions and recommendations regarding vendor and materials selection. Additionally, prepares reports and other communications for the department and executive management.
Special Projects Manager at The Children's Trust
The Special Projects Manager is a critical member of both cross- and inter-departmental teams at The Children’s Trust who engages in strategic planning, proactive problem-solving and critical thinking/analysis related to the design, coordination, and implementation of organizational projects. Primary responsibilities include utilizing and implementing change management, project management and business process management disciplines for successful on-budget and on-time execution of organizational projects.
Program Manager at The Children's Trust
The Program Manager is responsible for administering and monitoring contracts for various early childhood programs and services throughout Miami-Dade County that are funded by The Children's Trust. This position requires occasional non-traditional work hours (weekends and evenings). Background and experience in data analysis, process improvement and analytics is preferred.

The following duties are illustrative for this position: assist with the development and management of the bid solicitation process; monitor funded programs and services; participate in meetings and professional development activities; manage contract amendments and revisions; manage contract compliance; examines and uses data, processes and systems for organizational goals setting.
