2021 Mass Care and Shelter Exercise


Help the City Prepare for Emergencies!


Volunteer to be an actor in an emergency preparedness drill.


Thursday, December 9, 2021, 7:30am – 1:00pm

The Department on Disability is currently assisting the City of Los Angeles in recruiting volunteer actors for the upcoming Mass Care and Shelter Exercise.


This exercise will help the City prepare for future sheltering and mass care operations. The exercise coordinators are seeking people with disabilities to be volunteer actors during the exercise.

Who:   Everyone is needed:

·     Families

·     Senior Citizens

·     Individuals with Disabilities, Access & Functional Needs

·     English as a second language


When: Thursday, December 9, 2021, 7:30am – 1:00pm


Where: Northridge Recreation Center 18300 Lemarsh St., Northridge, CA 91324


Why:   Help the City to evaluate emergency sheltering, feeding, and reunification capabilities after a simulated large earthquake.

Show off your acting skills! See a spontaneous shelter operation in action! Bring along your friends, family, grandparents, kids, and service animals (sorry, no pets)! Bring easy-to-carry “pop up” tents or shade structures to simulate camping in the park.

We will provide scripts explaining who you’ll be portraying and answers to all the questions that may be asked.

 

You’ll Make an Important Difference!


Provide feedback on how well your needs were met which will improve the preparation for future sheltering and mass care operations.
