Election Day is over, and you may be wondering...what happens next? Hear from local experts and engage in the conversation.

On November 10, join The Tuesday After and hear analysts from Rutgers' Eagleton Institute of Politics on a post-election virtual panel that will analyze the results and implications of this year's presidential election.

What Happens Next is a series of recorded discussions with Rutgers experts on a variety of COVID-19 and other current day topics. This week features several election issues including:

Interested in a historical perspective? Register for the 2020 New Jersey History Conference Battles for the Ballot: New Jersey Voting Rights, Then and Now November 13. As New Jersey marks the 150th anniversary of the 15th Amendment and the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, the conference will explore how the right to vote has changed over time.

COVID-19 RESOURCES
Download the COVID Alert NJ mobile app to receive the most up-to-date information regarding reopenings, key COVID-19 data, and alerts if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive. The app is free and secure, and user information will remain anonymous. Available on Apple App Store and Google Play store.
Middlesex County residents can register for a walk-up COVID-19 test at the Youth Sports Complex, 419 Joyce Kilmer Avenue, New Brunswick, or a drive-up site on Ericsson Drive in Piscataway. Appointments are required. The site will provide saliva-based test kits developed at Rutgers University.

The New Brunswick Community Food Alliance provides a comprehensive listing of COVID-19 Food Pantry updates and local food distribution. Check back often for the latest information.

Is your community group interested in learning more about COVID-19 vaccine research? Rutgers experts from the Center for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research are available for outreach in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

The 26th Annual Book Arts Symposium will feature live streamed and pre-recorded presentations, virtual studio tours and demonstrations, an augmented reality exhibit, and do-at-home workshops November 5, 6, 12, & 13. Free.

The Crossroads Theatre Company presents Town Talks: The Day-After Conversations with civil rights icons, artists, faith leaders, and local civil servants November 5 to November 16.

Missing Broadway? Get your drama fix with online Broadway Trivia Night November 11 from the State Theatre New Jersey hosted by actor Brandon A. Wright from The Color Purple.

Create a women's suffrage sash in the traditional National Woman's Party colors of purple, white, and gold, with virtual instruction November 13. Free, but registration is required. Materials will be provided and can be picked up ahead of time at the New Brunswick Free Public Library. On December 5, create a rosette pin to celebrate women's right to vote.

Join Tom Rutledge for "Watercolors: At Sea" and create your own masterpiece inspired by nautical scenes in the Zimmerli Art Museum's collection during the Saturday Sparks Adult Art Workshop November 14.

Hear the presentation "In the Shadow of Genius: The Brooklyn Bridge and Its Creators," featuring photographer and author Barbara Mensch, who has lived alongside the Brooklyn Bridge for over 30 years and will illustrate her talk with photographs, including some taken deep inside the bridge.

FOR KIDS
On November 7, have a virtual get-together to get creative and explore paper collages with the Zimmerli Art Museum's Art Together. Artists of all ages are welcome, but this session is best suited for those ages 6-13 and their grown-ups. Free, but pre-registration is required.

Milk & Cookies storytelling series at The State Theatre New Jersey returns with a virtual performance by Annie Leeds, award winning children's songwriter. Those who register with a donation receive a video link to view the show from November 14 through February.

Rutgers Geology Museum has a full slate of programs this month including: Ask a Geologist: Geologic Wonders of Iceland November 6; Paint Along: Sunset Dinosaurs November 16; and Bizarre Beasts December 2. The museum also has introduced a virtual program for scouts earning their Geology Merit Badge. Scouts will learn about the Earth's natural resources and talk to real geoscientists.
AROUND TOWN
With the approach of colder weather, Elijah's Promise Coat Drive is collecting donations of new or gently-used winter jackets, hats, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts, sleeping bags, and blankets. Donations are being accepted by area Girl Scouts at Broehl's Lawn Maintenance in North Brunswick, or at Jersey Fine Wines in East Brunswick.

The Salvation Army is looking for kettle workers for the Bell Ringers Campaign during the 2020 holiday season that begins November 13.

Give the gift of happiness with just a click of your mouse. Contribute funds to purchase toys and other items for patients in The Children's Hospital at Saint Peter's University Hospital through their 2020 Virtual Toy Drive.

The Yard @ College Avenue welcomes the community back for free, socially-distanced programming: Family Yoga Night on Wednesdays; Fall Family Movie Series on Fridays; and Sunday morning yoga.

Alfa Art Gallery presents a two-person exhibition, Lifted, with John Hawaka and Vesselin Kourtev, commemorating the artists’ long-time friendship and their admiration for each other’s art work, through November 28. There is also a virtual gallery online.

Need a laugh? The Stress Factory Comedy Club brings comedians Tony Rock, Jeff Dye, and Anthony Rodia to town this month. Shows are in a heated, socially distanced tent.

Cook's Market, an open-air farm market at Rutgers Gardens, remains open on Fridays and offers a variety of local goods, produce, meats, cheeses, and prepared foods. Pre-ordering is encouraged for select vendors through the gardens' online store.

New Brunswick Free Public Library now offers access to Brainfuse JobNow, an online service designed to support the job search process. JobNow features live online coaches who, among other things, assist in resume/cover letter preparation, and help patrons prepare for job interviews.
