Ed's Art Student Returns as the Teacher
Decades ago, Linda Sole Faul took painting classes at the Taos Institute of Art with Ed Sandoval, Leigh Gusterson and Don Ward. She developed a passion, continued her studies and became a successful artist. Coming full circle, Linda now teaches her own art classes in Taos!

This summer, Linda’s students were excited to experience “plein air” painting and to capture the spectacular views in our land of enchantment.
The class visited several locations around Taos, including Ed’s second gallery: Studio De Colores. The emerging artists sketched and painted Ed’s horses, old trucks and adobe casita. A good time was had by all, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed honing their skills in such a beautiful setting.

4th of July Parade in Arroyo Seco

A few miles north of Taos is the village of Arroyo Seco. Though small in size, this community is rich in spirit, holding numerous events throughout the year.
One of the favorites among Northern New Mexicans and visitors alike is the annual 4th of July Parade.

Each year, the entire village is closed off and people come from miles around to enjoy the event. Adults, children, dogs, horses and other occasional species turn out, some in costume. Just about everyone in town participates, including Ed in his iconic 51 Chevy Truck!
Fandango 2017

On July 15, the “Fandango Gala” benefited La Hacienda de los Martinez and the E.L. Blumenschein Home & Museum. The event included a dinner, auction, and live music by Adrian Crutchfield, the last sax player to tour, perform and record with Prince.

On the prior evening. Joan Severance appeared at the Michael McCormick Gallery to sign copies of her new book, “How to Manifest Your Mate,” and donated the proceeds. At the same time, “Painting with Ed Sandoval” was happening a few doors away at his Taos Plaza gallery.

Ed set up a canvas and invited the community to paint! People passing by grabbed a brush and contributed to the painting, which was auctioned at the Gala. Ed also provided a Giclee as a raffle prize. The winner also received a limited-edition Bill Rane print donated by McCormick and a signed copy of Severance’s book.

Featured Collectors: Theresa and Brook Vickery

We (Brook and Theresa Vickery pictured front right) love to entertain guests in our home – and Ed’s painting, showcased behind us, makes our home all the more warm and inviting. We started following
Ed about 15 years ago. My husband read
a piece about him in a magazine and decided we had to visit his gallery. Whenever we were in Taos, we’d stop in and say “Hi” and admire his work.  One day, we took the plunge and bought "Old Adobe" you see featured here.

Since then, we’ve added several more pieces of Ed’s work to our home.  Ed is not only a gifted artist; he’s a gifted storyteller as well.  He’s become a friend to our family and we enjoy visiting him and his gallery whenever we’re in Taos – we’ve even shared a perfect margarita or 2 with him at the Adobe Bar. Consider us Ed super fans!
