NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)
’Tis the season....The season to write. It’s official: National Novel Writing Month started November 1, and we as writers are urged to write an entire novel by the end of the month. But don’t stress out: a novel could land anywhere from 50,000 words to 200,000 words, depending on the writer.
I urge people just to do their best to write as much as they can. My personal goal is to complete 50,000 words of Book 3 of the Serpent’s Heir series (or at least its rough draft). Lose that inner editor persona, and just write. Allow your creative thoughts to flow, and get out as much as you can. With Book 2 basically completed, I am getting more and more excited to start Book 3 and get as much as I can finished. If you’re a writer, or striving to be one, there’s nothing better than just starting. What do you have to lose?
Amazon Best Seller?
Do my eyes deceive me? Yes, it looks like The Unseen Blade has achieved being named on a Best Sellers category on Amazon! It was amazing to wake to up earlier this month. I was just going about my normal routine by checking to see how my book was doing, but to my surprise, The Unseen Blade had a new Best Sellers listing: it was at #87 in the African-American fantasy fiction category. It has now been there for the better part of the last two weeks. It so exciting to be able to say I am an Amazon bestselling author. In that vein, with a little rebranding, a new cover for The Unseen Blade will be revealed soon.

Book 2 of The Serpent’s Heir
Book 2 of The Serpent’s Heir is making pleasant strides forward. I have finished a few rounds of editing with my wonderful editor, Rebekah Becker. The process was more pleasant than ever as I created and fine-tuned a manuscript that I hope you all will enjoy. As of right now, a few people have access to it, as they are beta reading and giving me their thoughts. I plan on doing my final read-through this week and next week, and I’m hoping to have a final proofread done soon to finish it by the end of the year. Stay tuned for my social media posts, as I will be revealing the title and cover of the new book in December!
