Dear Friends,
The heartbreaking news about the death of Daunte Wright this week comes at a time when there is heightened awareness around the trial of Derek Chauvin for the killing of George Floyd. It is beyond surreal that both these gut-wrenching events took place in such close proximity to one another in Minneapolis and at the hands of police officers.
If you’re like me, you’re looking for some words of wisdom to help get through these difficult times when emotions are running high. And rightly.
I often turn to Dr. Bernice King for inspiration.
Yesterday, Dr. King posted this on Twitter: “We can’t turn around. We will continue the work of eradicating racism. With love, strategy, advocacy, education, coalitions, protest.”
And so, with Divine Guidance as our north star, let us continue being about doing the work.
There is much for which to be hopeful. We are the ones.

About Dinah:
Reverend Dinah Chapman moved to California in August 2000 to work in Silicon Valley. While working in Information Technology for over 20 years, she pursued her music ministry, singing and speaking in several Bay Area Unity churches. Inspired and taught by her parents, as a PK (preacher’s kid) she grew up singing gospel music in the church in Illinois, performing lead vocals for church choirs and directing choirs. Later after graduating from college, she began songwriting. She released her first CD of original music in 2005 and released her second CD, “Rivers of Living Waters,” in 2011.
Finding a love for teaching spiritual principles, she became a Licensed Unity Teacher in 2012. Answering the call to full-time ministry, Rev. Dinah entered Unity Institute and Seminary at Unity Village, Missouri, in 2013 where she received her Masters of Divinity and became an ordained Unity minister in June 2016. She has served as Associate Minister at Unity of San Leandro (CA) for two years and senior minister of Unity of Tri-Valley from 2018 to 2019. She is passionate about inclusivity, empowering and inspiring others to live abundant, joyful, meaningful lives that make a difference, and creating a world that works for all.
Rev. Dinah currently resides in the Bay Area in Northern California and is building an alternative ministry online, Unity Joy Abundantly Expressing Ministries (UnityJoy.org) that will focus on…you guessed it…JOY!

Working outside together can be both fun and rewarding. Continuing on from the work started on campus last fall, SpiritGroups organized a spring cleaning day last Saturday, April 10th. Created for the LGBTQIA+ community, this online event provides an opportunity to come together in a safe space to explore the rich and complex intersection of queer identity and spirituality.
Facilitated by Unity ministers from the LGBTQIA+ community, we will explore the power of spiritual liberation and how you can cultivate a deeper, more empowered awareness of your divine identity.
Designed as an interactive discussion with small breakout groups and exercises, this online event will support your gaining a deeper understanding of your sacred worth and how that can support your living a more fulfilled and joy-filled life.
Program Note: This event is open to all who identify as LGBTQIA+ and GNC (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Questioning Intersex, Asexual, Two-Spirited, and Gender Non-Conforming). In support of the online event and to allow us to create a safe space, this online event will not be open to allies nor will it be recorded.

A Course in Miracles Study Group
Thursdays, 1:00-2:30 on ZOOM
Every Thursday a group of people get together via Zoom to study A Course in Miracles (ACIM). Led by June Alexander, the group begins each session with a daily devotional, studies from the text, and then uses the workbook to learn how to put what they have studied into practice.

It may not be necessary, according to new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
While not impossible, the risk of getting infected from a surface is very low — “generally less than 1 in 10,000,” the CDC says. And the agency says it's fine to use regular household cleaners as long as no one is sick or has a suspected coronavirus infection.

Crowds, close interactions and ventilation are more concerning when it comes to the coronavirus, experts say. The public is reminded that the virus is airborne, and therefore the CDC's guidance focuses on those activities that best address stopping the spread, such as wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. |

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.
Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.
Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
