CMS has issued new guidance for visitation, communal dining and activities for nursing homes, which applies to our Skilled Nursing Facility. We are currently working on a plan to safely facilitate in person visitation and reinstate communal activities and dining in our Skilled Nursing Facility and are awaiting the state to issue updated guidance for Assisted living, Memory Care and Independent Living.

How many times have you heard the phrase, “Follow your dreams!” But what happens when dreams don’t come true? What happens when you’ve done all you can and things don’t pan out the way you wanted? It's time for a new dream.
Meet our Life Enrichment Team! The team is comprised of four wonderful individuals who provide one-on-one activity for our residents in Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Support. Who says art museums must be inside, enclosed with 4 walls, a ceiling and floor? Swirling all about us in Grand Rapids, in each of our city neighborhoods, vibrant, and intriguing artwork is appearing outside on sides of buildings, underneath highway overpasses, on retaining walls, street surfaces and utility boxes. These are murals, street art, wall art, painted by artists that celebrate beauty, or calls to action, and tributes to heroes. The murals transform otherwise unnoticeable, or worse, blighted spaces into must-see, energizing attractions. Viewing these murals is a study in local history, community activism and sheer expressions of creativity…
art all the time!

Concert in the Courtyard
Wednesday, September 30 at 2:00 PM
Correction: the concert is at 2:00 PM,
Not 3:00 PM as previously stated.
Do you miss live performances? A live outdoor performance of “Opera and Broadway Go to the Movies” sung by five amazing singers is coming to you! Diane Penning, Sarah Faasse Jeff Peerbolt and Trent Broussard of West Michigan Opera project, joined by special guest Megan Ratliff will sing songs and arias from the Broadway and Opera stage. Many of the selections have been featured in films including favorites from Oklahoma, South Pacific, Carousel and Les Miz, as well as beloved opera arias and duets such as Mozart’s haunting Sull ‘aria from the 1985 film The Shawshank Redemption and the Queen of the Night’s vengeance aria from the 1984 film Amadeus. The concert will be accompanied by exceptional pianist Todd Wilkie.

We invite residents with apartments facing the courtyard to enjoy the show from the comfort of their home.
International Observe the Moon Night | September 26
The simplest way to observe the Moon is to look up. The Moon is the brightest object in our night sky, the second brightest in our daytime sky, and can be seen from all around the world — from the remote and dark Atacama Desert in Chile to the brightly lit streets of Tokyo. International Observe the Moon Night is always held near a first-quarter Moon, which means that the near side of the Moon is about half-illuminated. A first-quarter Moon is great for evening observing as it rises in the afternoon and is high above the horizon in the evening. With the naked eye, you can see dark gray seas of cooled lava called mare.
