Griffin Spotlight:
Senior, Darius Thompson, Commended on National PSAT Exam
Aristoi senior, Darius Thompson, was named a Commended Student in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. Darius scored in the top 1% of over 1.6 million students who took the PSAT Exam nationwide. Darius was presented the Letter of Commendation this fall.

Darius's accomplishments don't stop in the classroom. The senior captain also led the Griffins Flag Football team to the school's first-ever State Championship. The team finished the season 12-0 with Darius at the helm.

Mrs. Withaar Earns Masters in Teaching in Record Time
Elementary Computer teacher, Jessica Withaar, received her Master of Arts in Teaching, (Elementary Education), and her Teaching Certification (Early Childhood) from Western Governors University in early November. Mrs. Withaar accomplished her goal in just 16 months!

Fall Wrap Up
This fall, Aristoi knocked it out of the ballpark (and off the volleyball court, cross country field, band auditions, football pitch, and theatre events)!

Incredible Griffin wins include:

  • Varsity Flag Football - STATE CHAMPIONS
  • Katy Rice Parade - 1st Place
  • Cross Country - 5 State Qualifiers (all making Personal Bests)
  • Jr. High Volleyball - Division Champions
  • Renaissance Festival Costume Contest - 3rd Place and three Honorable Mentions
  • Band - 7 scholars auditioned for Region Band and all 7 moved forward to Area Competition.


Acceptances & Scholarships

Aristoi announced that early acceptances have been made and scholarship money offered to Aristoi seniors from:

  • Abilene Christian University
  • Baylor University
  • Cornell College
  • Dallas Baptist University
  • Houston Baptist University
  • John Brown University
  • Juniata College
  • Samford University
  • Texas Tech University
  • University of Arkansas
  • University of Mary Hardin-Baylor

So far this year, scholarships have been awarded in the amount of $780,000!!!
