The Virtue of Patriotism
DEFINITION OF PATRIOTISM:
Paying due honor and respect to one’s country, with a willingness to serve
-
PATRIOTISM LOOKS LIKE:Showing respect for your country’s flag: saying the Pledge of Allegiance
- Showing respect for symbols and people who represent your country
- Learning about your country
- Learning and singing patriotic songs
- Visiting historic sites
-
PATRIOTISM SOUNDS LIKE:I pledge allegiance to the flag…
- Our country’s symbols have a lot of meaning.
- I want to learn more about our country.
- O say can you see. My country 'tis of thee.
- We went on a field trip to learn more about our country.

Twenty-Sixth Sunday in ordinary time
The Parable of the Two Sons
Jesus said to them, '"Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you. When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him."

Reminders from our
Head of School
|
|
Dear Parents
After 7:40 a.m., parents will now be allowed to park in the auxiliary (gravel) lot and walk up to the white entry gate with their children, where someone will be there to check the students' temperatures. If you choose this option, please be sure to wear a face covering and do not congregate at the gate or in the auxiliary lot. This does not apply to afternoon carline as the auxiliary lot is being used by parents for the 2nd dismissal (4th - 8th). Thank you for your patience and your partnership as we work to enhance these new procedures.
Make it a blessed week everyone!
In His service,
Head of School

RPA celebrated it's Inaugural Mass this past week with Rev. Tomasz Zalewski from St. John the Evangelist Church
|
|
We may have been spread out but we were close in SPIRIT!
Father Tom spoke from 1 Corinthians. "Love is patient, love is kind...rejoices with the truth...hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."
He spoke about Faith, Hope and Love and the importance of all three especially during this time.
He reminded us that is through suffering that we find healing. Fr. Tom explained to the students that their parents, teachers and Principal always protect them. He said, "They don't want to see you struggle, but struggles do make us stronger."
He said St. Paul talks about LOVE being kind and patient. He reminds us that in these times of struggle the Lord calls us to be more loving. We are here because of our FAITH and we acknowledge God in times like this. Finally, he reminds us that "people of faith are people of HOPE". Young people are the hope for tomorrow-a promise of tomorrow!
He blessed them and told them to be children of FAITH, LOVE, & HOPE as this is what the Lord calls us to do.
|
|
A special THANK YOU to Rev. Tom Zalewski for his time, talent, & treasure he shared with us!

If you received an email from us this week we are still waiting for your form.
Please sign and return to RPA or sign electronically in your Family Portal!
Thank you to everyone for your prompt attention to this important matter.

Notes from the School Nurse..
|
|
Tracey Greene, our School Nurse,
can be seen around campus educating the students about proper, routine hygiene!
|
|
|
"I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how incredibly helpful having Tracey as the school nurse has already been to my class this year. She has gone out of her way to try to help, has come to my classroom multiple times, is ready and willing to check on kids, makes phone calls home, and reaches out to check on students that are home sick. Just today, she quickly came to my classroom to help with a bloody nose and reached out to me to let me know that my student that couldn't attend recess outside could come to her office instead for the second day in a row. Having this help and knowing that she is readily available has eased so many potentially stressful moments for me this year. I am so thankful for her." (RPA Teacher)

Updates from Trinity Cleaning...
|
|
Thank you to Miss Barbie, who keeps our campus clean and sanitized all day long! Barbie can be found sanitizing door knobs, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash during the day when the students are on the campus.
Students in Mrs. Griffith's and Mrs. Brady's classes presented Barbie with cards and flowers to show their GRATITUDE!
She was so grateful and commented, "It was her best day ever!"

CLASSROOM BIRTHDAY TREATS!
|
Although we are temporarily suspending outside food from being delivered to RPA, arrangements can be made with Breads & Spreads to deliver tasty treats!
NEW OPTION!
"Soul Flours" is a Baker/Culinary Duo that works out of the same kitchen as Breads & Spreads. Lonna & Amy specialize in baked treats and are well versed in baking for specific allergies (Dairy free, Nut Free, etc.)
Since the baking is done in the same kitchen as Breads & Spreads, under the same safety protocols, and delivered to the RPA campus by Breads & Spreads, we are confident the integrity of our safety protocols can be maintained.
|
|
After September, birthdays will be celebrated on the First Friday of each month. Room moms will help coordinate the birthdays!
(Due to the short notice, September b-days will need a 10-day notice but may be celebrated on any Friday)
|
Parents interested in this option may contact Breads & Spreads. They will put you in touch with Soul Flours and payment can be arranged directly with Soul Flours.
|
|
Our first Love Lines banners have been hung on the RPA Soccer Field. All students can enjoy these heartfelt wishes from parents during their recess time!

“O Lady of Good Health,
our Merciful Father chose you to be a powerful intercessor in times of trouble and woe.
As in past centuries when you have ended contagious diseases, we implore you now to end the Coronavirus which is damaging the health of many and spreading fear in our communities.
Teach us not to be afraid, to be courageous and generous in offering assistance to others, and to live joyfully in the state of grace.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.”
