In memory of Gladys Jean Victor, donors are welcomed to contribute to a special High Adventure scholarship for Scouts in single-parent homes. This fund celebrates Ms. Victorās special connection to local Scouting. āA Gold Award recipient in Girl Scouts, she inspired her son to join Cub Scouting in 1983 as a Tiger Cub in Pack 799, at Trinity UMC, one of the first Tiger Cub Dens in the Robert E. Lee Council, BSA. Through her unwavering support, she would proudly see her son achieve the Arrow of Light, Eagle Scout, and many other prominent Scouting Awards.ā

Over here at HOVC, we're obsessed with the four p's... popcorn, peanuts, pie, and pizza! Do you still have your Scouting for Food door hanger? Even if you've long since recycled it, the Papa John's coupon code is still good now through December 31st. Order online or through the app and use code SCOUTS for 25% off your order. The best part is, every time the code is used, Papa John's donates $1.00 to Heart of Virginia Council. That means your dinner gives back to local Scouts! Commissioner College 2022
If you have just completed a tour as a Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, or any other adult Scouter position and want to continue to service Scouting in a different capacity, consider becoming a Unit Commissioner. A Unit Commissioner normally supports three units and draws on your experiences to help new leaders provide the Scouting program to their unit. Unit Commissioners are the ābehind-the-scenesā support that ALL units need. Commissioners are district and council leaders who help Scout units succeed. They coach and consult with adult leaders of Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, and Venturing crews. Commissioners help maintain the standards of the Boy Scouts of America.
Registration begins December 1st, 2021.

'Normal Friend Activities'
"Normal Friend Activities (NFAs) are low-pressure pack or troop events where units invite non-Scouting families to join them for an afternoon or evening of fun. An NFA might be a hike, a picnic, an ice cream party, a service project, a trip to a local sporting event or anything else you can dream up. At NFAs, Scouts and adult volunteers should dress in normal āstreetā clothes instead of uniforms ā a tactic that will help visitors feel more included."
