Boosters
The CDC now recommends that people whose immune systems are moderately to severely compromised should receive an additional dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine after the initial 2 doses.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup all agree that an individual may choose to mix and match their COVID-19 vaccine booster.
What does that mean? If you received an initial dose of Janssen (J&J) then you may choose to receive either a Janssen (J&J) or Moderna or Pfizer (also referred to as Comirnaty) booster. Likewise, if you received Moderna as your primary vaccine series (i.e., first 2-doses) then you may receive a Moderna or Janssen (J&J) or Pfizer booster.
