"Sports Briefs..."
San Rafael had to work a bit harder than it may have expected to on Wednesday, needing four runs in the sixth inning to rally past Novato for an 8-6 victory. Karen Vela drove in a run with a groundout to pull the Bulldogs (9-3, 7-1) within 6-5. An error allowed San Rafael to tie the game then Sophia Everett hit a two-run single for an 8-6 lead. Everett had three hits — including her third home run in four games — two walks, drove in four runs and scored twice. Angel Amesa reached base four times with two hits and two walks, scoring twice. Megan Murphy overcame some shaky defense behind her — San Rafael committed six errors — to strike out 14 in the complete-game win.

"Sports Briefs: Brovelli's blast a bright spot in San Rafael's 10-inning loss"
San Rafael lost 10-9 in 10 innings in a non-conference baseball matchup against Analy on Wednesday, despite a big day from sophomore Gio Brovelli, who had four hits, including a home run, and drove in seven runs. Dylan Thorpe had three hits for the Bulldogs, who got two hits from Colby Jackson, and one each from Quinn Madden and AJ Thorpe.
A five-run second inning put the Bulldogs ahead 7-2, but Analy went on a scoring binge to take a 9-7 lead after five innings. The Bulldogs tied the game with a two-run sixth inning.
