Weekly Chamber News & Events
25th October 2021
Fellow Members,

This weeks newsletter has some interesting reading so please take a moment to look through.
We have recently noted that Transform Leatherhead team have put out a second update of the year for the public and businesses to view.
This can be found on the Transform Leatherhead website or via MVDC website. You can read the latest newsletter from them HERE.

Please take the opportunity to review and sign up for the Financial management course being promoted below. This course is free to chamber members and is run over 12 sessions.

Covid 19:
It has become very noticeable whilst out and about how members of the public seem to be treating the ending of lockdown as a return to normal!
I would urge all of our members to continue promoting safe working practice and the continued use of Face coverings and other associated PPE where appropriate.
Please take time to remind your staff, the virus has not just “gone away” and is still very virulent, encourage regular hand washing and any other preventative measure to reduce spread.
We are now entering the time of year when illness hits hardest and takes its toll in staff absence, don’t let Covid play an active part in this.

I wish you all a safe and happy week ahead.

Regards

Richard

EVENTS & NETWORKING
Thank you to all those that attended our face to face event last week, it's clear there is still a demand for a mixture for in person and online events which is what we will continue to do. Our next event is an online Breakfast on Weds 3rd November. For details of this and all our upcoming events please visit our events page HERE.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FOR BUSINESS OWNERS
You should have received a separate email last week with all the information for our 12 session training programme beginning on 9th November. The initiative is open to everyone and FREE for Chamber members. Full details of the programme, the content and booking information can be found HERE.
LEATHERHEAD HIGH STREET PEDESTRIAN & CYCLE ZONE
In the autumn of 2020 ‘temporary emergency active travel measures’ changes were made to Leatherhead town centre to extend the pedestrian zone to include Sundays, for pedestrians to have use of the High Street between 1000 and 1630 from Monday to Sunday (with no parking from 0800-1800 on Monday to Sunday) and to allow cyclists to access the High Street during the pedestrian hours.

Mole Valley District Council is consulting with Leatherhead town centre businesses to determine whether these changes should be made permanent, or whether they should be reversed (so that the pedestrian zone would revert to 1000-1630 from Monday to Saturday, with no parking between 0800 and 1800 on Monday to Saturday).
