Children ages 5 to 11 are now required to have proof of at least one dose of vaccination for the public indoor activities described here. Additionally, beginning Monday, December 27, people 12 and older participating in said public indoor activities will be required to show proof they have received two vaccine doses, except for those who have received the one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Learn more here.

Also starting Monday, December 27, workers in New York City who perform in-person work or interact with the public in the course of business must show proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Learn more on the workplace vaccine mandate here.
Get Tested, Vaccinated and Boosted!
With COVID-19 cases surging, now is the time to get your COVID-19 vaccine or booster. Please note New Yorkers age 16 and 17 are eligible to receive a Pfizer-BioNTech booster shot, while those age 18 and older are eligible for Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson boosters. And Mayor de Blasio has announced that now through Friday, December 31, people can receive a $100 incentive if they get a booster shot at a City-run site or with the City's partner SOMOS Care. Click here to find a vaccine site and here for vaccine information from New York State.

If you're feeling sick, get tested immediately. Find a testing site here. For more information on testing and vaccines in NYC, read Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer's guide.

Trash, Recycling and Curbside Compost Collection Service Updates for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
Christmas Day and New Year's Day both fall on Saturdays. While many organizations and businesses may recognize the holidays the Friday before, Friday is a normal collection day for the Department of Sanitation. Residents with Friday collection should follow their normal schedule.

Residents who normally receive Saturday recycling or curbside compost collection may place their material out at curbside between 4:00pm and midnight on Sunday for collection beginning Monday. Residents who normally receive Saturday trash collection should hold their material until their next trash collection day. Residents may experience collection delays, as is common after holidays. For questions about Sanitation services and holiday schedules contact 311 or visit nyc.gov/sanitation.
