The Second Station of the Cross:
Jesus carries His cross
A Prayer Excerpt from Catholic.org:

Jesus, as you accepted your cross, you knew you would carry it to your death on Calvary. You knew it wouldn't be easy, but you accepted it and carried it just the same. Help me also Lord Jesus to carry the crosses in my life..

The Third Station of the Cross:
Jesus falls the first time
A Prayer Excerpt from Catholic.org:

Jesus, the cross you have been carrying is very heavy. You are becoming weak and almost ready to faint, and you fall down. Nobody seems to want to help you. The soldiers are interested in getting home, so they yell at you and try to get you up and moving again.

My Jesus, the heavy burden of my sins is on Thee, and bears Thee down beneath the cross. I loathe them, I detest them; I call on Thee to pardon them; may Thy grace aid me never more to commit them..

From the Desk of the Director
Today Pope Francis steps into Iraq becoming the first pope to visit this ancient land. In what had become rather regular, a pope traveling the world, this feels special in many ways. It is good to see Pope Francis back out with the people and a reminder that this is possible again. I think the greater gift though is that the Iraqi Christians will be blessed and empowered by this visit. As one Iraqi Bishop said, “It has the potential to change the trajectory of the Christian presence in Iraq from one of a disappearing people to one of a surviving and thriving people.” Let us pray for Pope Francis and all of the people he encounters, may the Grace of God be with them on this trip.

As part of our Lenten prayers, we’ll be praying the Stations of the Cross every hour on Fridays. Tune in for this short spiritual walk or view the vignettes with the audio on our Facebook or Instagram pages.

Praying everyone’s Lent is going well.

LA Catholic Morning!

Live from the Command Center
Are we really halfway through Lent next week? While I have fallen at times in the area of fasting, I have certainly learned that when I stick to my fasting regimen, I actually have more will power than I think. Of course I say that, and my wife, Jen, will serve hot wings for dinner or something equally delicious. Anyway, the point is, it's not about the fall, it's about getting back up and continuing the journey even stronger than ever. Speaking of stronger, our guest line up for LA Catholic Morning keeps getting stronger and stronger. Fr Len Plazewski from Christ the King parish in Tampa kick starts our week on Monday morning, and will talk about the Florida martyrs. Did George Washington really order that his troops get inoculated against small pox during the American Revolution? Author, Katherine Tone joins us on Wednesday to discuss the matter. Finally, we'll begin a monthly series on Friday as Dale Leish from the Lagniappe will join us to share what's happening around Mobile and the Eastern Shore.

God bless ya'll! Remember, when the going gets tough, the tough get tougher. You can DOOOO IT!!!! Don't forget to call your mama!!
