Dear TCAA Family,
At Texas Center for Arts + Academics, it is our mission to help our students achieve academic excellence through an arts-based approach. Studies show that students with the arts integrated into the classroom are more likely to engage in critical thinking and active participation. The arts encourage creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

If you, or someone you know, has a child who would thrive in a more creative learning environment - or who has a natural love of the arts - we'd like to extend an invite to our upcoming Open House Events! Please, RSVP HERE.
Our Open House events are online this year, LIVE via Facebook.

FWAFA Visual Art Department Presents:
Monster Art Show

Virtual Gallery Opens Oct. 29 6pm

Leave the TRICKS—because we have a special TREAT for you! Don’t be a SCAREDY cat—join the Visual Art Department for our 10th Annual MONSTER ART SHOW!

What makes the Monster Art Show so FRIGHTFULLY-fun is that each of our 3rd grade students draw graphite pencil monster drawings which are then rendered as a larger, full color, one-of-a-kind finished artwork by a FWAFA high school art student. Also featured in the Monster Art Show are two collaborative grid drawings, as well as monster art created by elementary and middle school students.

Our visual arts classes worked together to make this an EERIE EXHIBITION featuring hundreds of FANG-TASTIC artworks for you to enjoy during this spooky season!
FWAFA High School Theatre Presents:
Welcome to the 60's!

Dec. 11-13 ArtsAcademics.org/LIVE

Welcome to the 60's is one of our 2020 High School Theatre productions. This auditioned performance will feature musical numbers, scenes, and sketches performed and narrated by FWAFA high school students.

The FWAFA Theatre Department is spending this school year, traveling through time with a series of decade studies. The video below gives you an idea of what theatre class at FWAFA looks like this year as students learn about the 1940s, both at-home and in-person.

TCA+A Schools Are Thriving, Despite Pandemic
Though things look a little different, the 2020-2021 school year is off to a great start! We are so grateful to have children back in the building - the halls are alive, once again, with the sound of music!

Naturally, our faculty, staff, and parents have found creative ways to nurture the academic, artistic, and emotional growth of our students while ensuring their health and safety. We are proud of our TCA+A family for their resilience as well as the many ways they are coming together and reimagining what creating and performing look like for our students this year.

So far this school year:
  • 540 students have returned to In-Person Learning
  • 3 Virtual Performances
  • 1 Virtual Art Show
  • 1,116 Virtual Audience Members
  • Best Charter Schools Top 5 Ranked - TeSA & FWAFA
  • 2020 College Success Award Winner - FWAFA High School
Senior Buddies - FWAFA 3rd graders are paired with a senior buddy at the beginning of each school year. This is one of our most precious mentorship programs on campus.
Every year, TeSA students celebrate the 50th day of School by rocking their best poodle skirts, leather jackets, and hair-grease!
TeSA 1st graders had an online Fall Party via Zoom where they got to show off their one-of-a-kind pumpkin designs!
