~ Weekly MomMemo ~
Dear Mom,

This week we celebrate the signing of the Constitution. On September 17, 1787, the delegates of the Constitutional Convention signed the document that established the free world. The principles on which our Founding Fathers relied in establishing the United States of America are still relevant today.

Dawn Damiani, MFA Illinois State Liaison, sat down to discuss the importance of the Constitution and what it means for Americans and the upcoming election. Whether or not the administration elected in November respects and defends the Constitution will determine if our nation continues to be free.

See what Dawn has to say:
"Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again."

-President Ronald Reagan
We know that our basic freedoms are under threat this election. By registering to vote and casting our ballot, we are each taking a decisive step in defending freedom and passing on liberty to our children and grandchildren.

Moms for America® Founder and President Kimberly Fletcher on the freedoms we need to defend:

"Moms, if we don't vote, our freedoms can and will be taken away. It's time to maximize the power of our voice. Stand up for your freedom and vote your values on Election Day."

Have you noticed that the Electoral College is under attack like never before? You may think this is not an issue that directly affects you or you may know that it does but be unsure how to respond.

Join MFA Director of Education and Policy Lisa Cummins and Michael C. Maibach, a Distinguished Fellow for Save Our States , a non-profit dedicated to defending the Electoral College. On September 18 at 10 a.m. Central, we'll be live discussing the Electoral College in depth and what you can do to ensure that the safeguards of liberty our founders put in place remain.

Register for the event here.
