Sharon Community,
And just like that, it feels like winter! The warm weather that we experienced early this November certainly was playing tricks on us, making it feel like more early spring than late fall. While I do enjoy the warmth and all the activities that can continue, like mountain biking, I look forward to our colder season and the change of pace that comes with it, along with activities such as ice skating and winter mountain sports. Daylight savings in the fall can be a challenge. The loss of daylight towards the end of our day can be tough for some folks. I hope we can all find ways to stay connected so that the light within us can continue to shine.
Speaking of staying connected, I’ve been struck by how the Sharon community, and our surrounding communities, strive to keep folks connected. Our wonderful PTO put together a Spooky Night last month. What a cool way to have families get together to see our children in costumes, walking the pumpkin walk, and enjoying some treats!
With the spirit of togetherness in mind, our PTO is once again offering a used clothing sale this Saturday, November 19th. This is a great way for folks to find something gently used, for a really good price.
This Sunday, November 20th, starting at 3:00 pm, there will be a gathering in the "Williams Woods" at the elementary school to celebrate 10 years of our PreK program. Come to “Thanksgiving in the Woods” and bring a dish to share or just come for conversation and laughter. Celebrate one of the true gems of Sharon Elementary School, our PreK program!
Throughout the year we will be hosting events that will aim to bring folks together to celebrate our community and our children. We are planning for a Winter Carnival, a Spring Fling Family Potluck, and more. Please be on the lookout for these events, and other happenings throughout the year.
Cooler temperatures have arrived. This means that our children will need to be dressed accordingly in order to spend time outdoors. Please help your children prepare for the day’s weather by previewing it with them either the night before or the morning so they can choose what to wear.
Respectfully,
Keenan Haley
