Parent Survey
Parents, Trinity is interested in learning about your experience with our return to school this year. Click to contribute.

Do you pay more than $3,500 in state income taxes each year?
If so, you can donate 100% of your state income tax liability to Trinity High School through the SPE (Special Purpose Entity) arm of the EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) program. These donations benefit Trinity's Tuition Assistance efforts.

An example of how it works: If your state income tax liability is $4,000, you can donate up to $4,000, but no more (do not overcommit; if you do, the entire donation will be void). You will receive a 90% credit ($3,600) in the form of a check from the state in the following year. In addition, you’ll be able to deduct the remaining 10% ($400) on your federal income tax return.

To redirect your state income tax liability, complete the Joinder Agreement and return it to Trinity High School at the attention of the Advancement Office. It’s that easy!

Find more information about the program here. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to contact Mrs. Monique Abbas at (717) 761-1116. Help a Trinity student today!

College and Financial Aid Session
The Guidance Department is offering a College and Financial Aid Virtual Information Session for parents of seniors on Wednesday, September 23, at 6:30 p.m. Miss Campbell, Trinity's College and Career Counselor, will talk about the application process, followed by a presentation on financial aid from a PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency) representative.

During the meeting, viewers can post questions that will be answered during a question-and-answer period. Parents will receive a link to join this Zoom meeting via email, and access information will also be available on the Rediker College and Career Group available to parents. We encourage each family to use one device to access the meeting, as Zoom caps the number of participants. Very important information will be shared, so you do not want to miss this event! Senior students are encouraged to attend with their family members to learn more about the process.

Athletic Attendance
At this time, attendance at sporting events is for families only. Football games will not have opposing fans. As with many things, we are following the frequently-changing guidance from the State and other governing bodies, and we are doing our best to accommodate the desires of our fans and to adhere to recommended safety procedures. Please note that no Diocesan high schools will permit tailgating this year. Because Trinity is holding classes in-person, full-time on each day of the week, we have an even greater reason to exercise caution. Thank you for your understanding.

Athletic Live Streaming
We are planning on live streaming our Varsity Football and Soccer (Boys and Girls) soccer games on Facebook, and Volleyball on YouTube, to allow fans to follow our teams' progress. Follow our Facebook page if you don't already!

Thank You
The Reider family offers their sincere gratitude for the love, support, and generosity received in the aftermath of the fire at their home and business. Funds raised from the dress down were used to replace essential tools and materials to allow the family business to continue to operate. The overwhelming support from the Trinity community at this difficult time is hugely appreciated.

Class Schedules for Remote Learners: Week of September 21
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - regular schedule
Wednesday - special schedule (2:15 p.m. dismissal)

Remote Learners--Reminders
Remote learners must click into the Zoom meeting for their class approximately a minute before the class is scheduled to begin. This gives time for the actual connection and for the teacher to admit you to the class. Students who are not admitted by the teacher after five minutes should message Mrs. Kenski in the Main Office or Mrs. Lafferty in attendance. If your internet is out, you can call the Main Office at (717) 761-1116 to let the school know.

To remain in the class, you must be appropriately dressed and sitting up at a desk or table, and your camera needs to be on at all times so that the teacher can see your entire face, neck, and shoulders.

Travel Quarantine--Diocesan Guidance
A reminder that the Diocesan portion of the safety plan includes a mandatory quarantine of 14 calendar days for students who have visited certain states with high rates of infection.

Key Club
Students interested in joining Key Club should complete and return this form with dues. Our first meeting will be on October 14. Forms and dues may be returned to Mrs. Stager in room 210 or through the Main Office. Please place your form and dues in an envelope.

Wrestling Meeting
On Monday, September 21, there will be a brief meeting for anyone interested in joining the Wrestling team. We will meet outside of the training room in the grass area at 2:45 p.m.

Lacrosse Meeting
We will have an informational Zoom call for parents of returning lacrosse players and parents of freshmen who are interested in playing, as well as any new players, next Wednesday, September 23, at 7:00 p.m. The Zoom meeting ID is 971 907 1809, and the password is 239135.

Attendance Updates
New Email Address for Attendance--For all future Attendance concerns, please use attendance@thsrocks.us regarding dismissals, absences, attendance notes, or remote work during illness. Jennie Lafferty will receive all non-attendance related communications at jlafferty@thsrocks.us.

Virtual Doctors Visits--For virtual medical visits, the Attendance Office requests a screenshot of the ended session with the physician. Photos of the physician or student are not necessary. The end of the session should indicate the name of the doctor's office and that your student was present for the virtual visit. If the virtual visit is through any other format other than Zoom, we reqyest a note from the doctor's office either by email or through fax at (717) 761-7309.

Working Remote through Illness--Parents whose sick student wishes to work remotely due to illness should email the Attendance Office by 7:30 a.m. the morning of the school day that your student is not present in school. If you email by 7:30 a.m., we will be able to mark your student present for the day and communicate this to their teachers. Your student must be present for all livestreaming classes. If a teacher notifies attendance that your student is not present remotely, then the student will be marked absent for illness and a note will be required.

Any other family trip days and college visit days are not included in working remotely at any time. However, the students may use this resource to stay on top of their classes.

College and Career Counselor Corner
from Miss Kerry Campbell
College and career information for senior students and their families can now be found on Rediker. Under the "Groups" tab, there is now a "College & Career" group link. Click on this link and then click on "Group Page" to access this information. The page contains critical instructional materials seniors received in a classroom lesson last week. Easy access to links and files that seniors need is provided on this page. Miss Campbell, the College and Career Counselor, will update this page regularly.

Applying to post-secondary programs and schools can be daunting at times for students as well as family members. By providing access to information about the process, paired with timely announcements, Trinity will support families and encourage students throughout this journey.

Seniors have additional access to the Trinity Guidance Google Classroom, which contains supplemental resources for college/career exploration and the application process.

Gospel for Sunday, September 20, 2020--25th  Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus told his disciples this parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard. After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard. Going out about nine o'clock, the landowner saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and he said to them, 'You too go into my vineyard, and I will give you what is just.' So they went off. And he went out again around noon, and around three o'clock, and did likewise. Going out about five o'clock, the landowner found others standing around, and said to them, 'Why do you stand here idle all day?' They answered, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You too go into my vineyard.' When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, 'Summon the laborers and give them their pay, beginning with the last and ending with the first.' When those who had started about five o'clock came, each received the usual daily wage. So when the first came, they thought that they would receive more, but each of them also got the usual wage. And on receiving it they grumbled against the landowner, saying, 'These last ones worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who bore the day's burden and the heat.' He said to one of them in reply, 'My friend, I am not cheating you. Did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage? Take what is yours and go. What if I wish to give this last one the same as you? Or am I not free to do as I wish with my own money? Are you envious because I am generous?' Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last."--Matthew 20:1-16A

Reflection
In the parable this week, we learn that the love of God is generous. The parable never tells us why the workers were not hired until the landowner came, but it does tell us that the landowner took care of those who worked for him. Sometimes we act like servants and become jealous or allow feelings of mistreatment to cloud our consciences. When this occurs, we need to take a step back and re-evaluate our situation. We should rejoice in God's generosity, for he forgives all our sins, and gives us many blessings.
Saint of the Week--Saint Pio Of Pietrelcina, September 23
Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, popularly known as Padre Pio, grew up in southern Italy. At the age of 15, he joined the Capuchins and was ordained in 1910. In 1918 he received the stigmata, the markings of the crucified Jesus.

Prayer for the Week
Dear Loving and Compassionate God, Giver of all gifts, we pray especially today for the mercy and love You give us. Open our hearts and minds to you. Give us the grace to accept your mercy. As we live each day, we pray for those less fortunate, especially those who are hurting, and whose wounds need to be healed. Help us become involved in ways that show them how deeply we care. Give us the personal courage to listen to their concerns and help them find the solutions to which they are entitled, as your children and our brothers and sisters. Amen.
