This month: The Friends benefit from a generous donation to install a hydration station at the Visitor Center. Pictures of Yukitaka Osaki's cherry trees and a photo essay about a fun and blustery ferry celebration.
A big "thank you" to Reynolds' Subaru!
Reynolds' Subaru has generously provided funding for the installation of a water dispenser at the Visitor Center!

This will reduce plastic waste and improve access to water. A terrific improvement, especially since visitor access to water was a BIG problem last year (we will say more in the next newsletter).

It's a great fit for the Subaru Loves the Earth commitment!

William and Helen Gillette (Tyke and Teddie Niver) made a trip down to Lyme to say "thank you" in person.

William inspected the carriage built by his local dealer Ephraim Otis Reynolds in 1859, and pronounced it to be in tip-top shape! The Reynolds team really stands by the commitment "built to last"!

Sunshine, winds and good cheer at the ferry celebration!
On April 2, an enthusiastic bunch of ferry fans welcomed in the start of the 2023 season for the Chester-Hadlyme ferry.

There were snacks from our friends at Hadlyme Country Market, and plenty of intrepid boat riders on a blustery day.

Cherry blossoms have arrived!
Spring is in the air! The cherry trees planted by our friends at the Japan Society of Greater Hartford are in full bloom right now.

The Japan Society will plant more cherry trees at Cove Cemetery this year in honor of Yukitaka Osaki. You are invited to join a small ceremony to honor the planting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. We hope to see you there!
