A Message From Your College of Science Graduate Student Council
A hearty fall welcome to all new and returning College of Science graduate students. We hope that you are finding yourself developing a balance with your studies and personal time this semester. We know it can be a challenge, even without the umbrella of a pandemic response. We are your College of Science Graduate Student Council. Please check us out here and contact your department representative with any questions, concerns or suggestions you have to improve the wellbeing of your fellow grad students.
Graduate Student Highlight: Meet Justin Pinkston from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Justin Pinkston is originally from Seattle, Washington. He chose to attend Utah State University beginning in 2012. Since then, he has completed degrees in biology and biochemistry. He fell in love with science, specifically biochemistry, and realized that he wanted to pursue a doctorate in the field. He enjoy the outdoors and spend most of my time adventuring in the mountains with my chocolate lab, Ruby (pictured above).
Meet the Graduate Program Coordinators
We celebrate our Graduate Program Coordinators -- GPCs – who serve us in many ways. Each month, we’ll introduce you to a new GPC and, this month, we’re pleased to feature Cindy Weatbrook, Chemistry and Biochemistry GPC. To find the GPC for our department.
Research on Remote:
USU Chemistry Grad Students
Awarded Prestigious Internships
Is it possible to participate in a research internship with a national lab remotely? Yes, say three doctoral students, who are making the most of a unique opportunity.
Science Week Begins November 2nd
Thanks to all of you, who generously participated in the university's 24 hours of giving. Our college, with support from alumni donors Terry & Faye Whitworth, raised more than $12,800 to establish the Student Emergency Hardship Fund to help our students in need. Details on the application process will be available soon.
Thanks for Bringing Your 'A Game' for 'A' Day of Giving
The USU Science Council invites you to participate in Science Week 2020 beginning Monday, November 2nd. The week is full of events that celebrate the diverse scientific disciplines represented in the College of Science.
Science Week kicks off with a Research Mingle event via Zoom on Monday afternoon, November 2. This event will be a great opportunity to hear from USU Researchers and to gain insight into their projects.
