THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
INSIDE THE SCHOOL
Associate Professor Joseph Erba, strategic communication concentration chair, has been selected to join KU’s Senior Administrative Fellows Program. The program cultivates the leadership skills and organizational know-how of tenured faculty through a yearlong exploration and mentoring curriculum.

Associate Professor Peter Bobkowski is featured in this KU Alumni Association story for using the Mentoring+ platform in his Data Storytelling class.

Himée Kamatuka, recruitment coordinator, has accepted the role of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Curator for the J-School. As DEIB curator, she will develop and report on key performance indicators within the school, using validated metrics, a universitywide diversity framework and the university strategic plan.

If you missed the 9/11 In The Newsroom panel discussion last Thursday, you may view a recording of the event on The University Daily Kansan's Facebook page.

The Curriculum and Assessment Committee invites all School of Journalism and Mass Communications instructors to attend the inaugural Assessment Show-and-Tell on Friday, Sept. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. in Room 303. As the reporting requirements for course assessments increase, everyone can benefit from learning about the course assessments that are being used across the school. Colleagues will share the assessments they use, explain how they designed these assessments, how they implement them, and what they do with the results.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to a town hall discussion of the new Media Arts & Production (MA&P) concentration currently in development for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Discussion will include vision and goals for the new MA&P concentration, curriculum updates and Q&A. Join us from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 30 in Clarkson Gallery.
