Online Donation Option Available Now
Individuals can now go online to make financial gifts to certain POJ funds, such as the Pastoral Care Fund. The new form accepts donations through Paypal via credit card, debit card, or electronic bank transfer. (A Paypal account is not required, however.) If you wish to send a check, the form offers instructions. We encourage churches to continue using checks and the annual remittance form for contributions.
Clergy Evaluations During a Pandemic
Evaluating a pastor during normal times can be a challenge. It is even more so during a pandemic, when churches are operating differently. Jan Edmiston, general presbyter of the Presbytery of Charlotte, recommends churches use questions by Jill Hudson to conduct clergy evaluations. Read her thoughts about the review process’s role in building a healthy congregation.
POJ Updates Congregational Meeting Guide
Last week, POJ emailed to clerks and pastors updated guidelines for conducting congregational meetings and ordination/installation services during the pandemic. These guidelines also are available on our website, under Forms and Documents in the Presbytery section.
