DOLPHIN DID YOU KNOW
IMPORTANT RBUSD UPDATES REGARDING THE HYBRID MODEL

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) has formally embraced the Centers for Disease Control and the California Department of Public Health’s 3-feet physical distancing guidance for TK-12 classroom instruction.

Here is a summary of the changes for students enrolled in the hybrid model. Please note: If you are in the 100% online learning model (SchoolsPLP/Apex), nothing will change for your child(ren).

Grades TK-5: Monday, April 12, will be a distance learning day. Beginning April 13, grades TK-5 students will begin five-days a week instruction under the hybrid bell schedule (Grade TK/K, dismiss at 11:45 a.m. and Grades 1-5, dismiss at 12:55 p.m.). Cohorts A and B will be combined. Your site principal and teacher will communicate with you regarding this process.

Grades 6-12: Beginning the week of April 12, all 6-12 grade students will return two days a week as planned under the cohort model. Beginning April 26, however, grades 6-12 extend their days on campus from two to four days a week under the current hybrid bell schedule (dismissing at 12:35 p.m.). Cohorts A and B will be combined. Your site principal and teachers will communicate with you regarding this process. Please note that Patricia Dreizler students will learn more about their cohort and schedule from their principal.

JOG-A-THON

The annual Jog-A-Thon fundraiser kicks off on April 1st! The Jog-A-Thon is Jefferson's biggest fundraiser and funds Classroom Grants, Field Trips, School Assemblies, and Campus Improvements/beautification to make our great school even better. Packets will be sent home with students and are also attached (CLICK HERE).

There will be several changes to the Jog-A-Thon this year:
• Jog-a-thon will be a virtual event, it will run from April 1-30.
• Instead of running on the track, parents can log Fitness Minutes for their kids on the Get Movin website. Fitness Minutes can be for jogging or any type of exercise during the month of April. April 30 is the final date of the fundraiser/fitness tracking.
• There will be no Jog-a-thon t-shirts this year.
• Prizes will be distributed after the Jog-a-thon all at once.
There will still be fun prizes for fundraising, please see attached kickoff packet for details.

We need your help reaching out to any potential sponsors you can think of - local restaurants, stores, gyms, etc.

For a donation of only $250 or more for a business logo will be added to our fundraising website! If you could send a few emails, make a few phone calls or ask in person it will make a big impact to our fundraising efforts! The attached Sponsor form and Donation Request letter are a great way to reach out. All donations are tax deductible and all sponsorship $s will be credited to the student that brings them in and their class for earning prizes. Company matching is another great way to increase family donations.

Please let us know if you have any questions (stacyeder9@gmail.com).

Thanks!

DO YOU SHOP ON AMAZON?
Amazon is giving free money to Jefferson!

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Amazon Smile is a program through Amazon where they donate 0.5% of the purchase price of all items to the charity of your choice: Jefferson PTA.

Shopping at Amazon Smile is identical to shopping at Amazon with all the same items, so you use your existing Amazon account, and, if you are a Prime Member, your purchases are eligible for Prime just like before. Sound easy? It is!

To shop, go to http://smile.amazon.com/ch/95-6204301 and select Jefferson PTA as your chosen charity. After that, remember to visit smile.amazon.com to shop instead of amazon.com.
