Holy Trinity Thanksgiving Zoom Gathering - Don't Forget |
At 11 AM on Thanksgiving Day, please gather with us on Zoom for a brief gathering to mark the day together. We will hear a Thanksgiving hymn, Suz will bless our meals, wherever and whenever we plan to share them, and we will share our news, thanksgivings, and whatever else we want to share. Compline: Bedtime Prayers for Us All |
Nightly prayer time on our Facebook page began in mid-March as a way to connect and provide a sense of closure to each day during the lock-down, when our days seemed to melt together into a timeless goo. As the weeks went by, a small and faithful group of worshipers began to form into a community of prayer. People from around the diocese and around the country join us each night to ask for prayers and to settle their hearts for the night. We gather each night at 8:25 pm to prepare for this brief service of prayer, honoring the saints as they are appointed in Lesser Feasts and Fasts, with Compline beginning at about 8:30. Compline lasts about 15 minutes, including time to read our parish prayer list and other names and needs that are requested. |

Thanksgiving for Your Faithful Generosity |
This year has reminded us in so many ways of the strength and closeness of our community. Even in the months in which we have been physically distant and unable to gather in person, the Spirit kept us together, connecting us. As we look to the year to come, we are more committed than ever to the ministry and love we share with our community and our neighbors. Our ministry is funded through the gifts of its members — your generous offerings given in grace and love. Your Stewardship Committee, Vestry, Wardens, and clergy are all most grateful for the pledges we have received so far. If you have already pledged, thank you!
As our Annual Campaign wraps up, we have received 104 pledges for a total of $452,398. We are under $70,000 short of our goal for 2021. If you have not yet pledged, it isn't too late! The Stewardship Committee will be reaching out pastorally to those regular pledgers whose pledges we have not received with a gentle reminder. We understand that 2020 has been a year of uncertainty for many of us, so please remember that, no matter the amount, every pledge makes a real difference.

We will have our annual Advent Wreath Making after the 2:00pm outdoor service. We have a limited number of small wreath forms available on a first-come-first-serve basis, as well as Advent candle sets and greens. If you have a wreath form, you can bring it with you.
In the case of bad weather, watch for a cancellation notice in your Sunday morning email.

Advent Season Kickoff at Trinity Place |

The Family Ministry Committee has been working hard to come up with creative ways to continue our traditional Advent festivities safely. Please join us as we kickoff the Advent Season Outdoors at Trinity Place, Sunday, Nov 29th
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Worship
3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Family Fellowship*
*Fellowship is open to all and will include cider and cookies individually packaged for families, Advent wreath kits, picture coloring for delivery to The Clemson Downs, collection of canned goods for Clemson Community Care and an Advent Care Package for all K – 12th grade families to take home and enjoy throughout Advent. CDC guidelines will be followed including social distancing, masks and access to hand sanitizer.

#AdventWord is a global, online Advent calendar. Each day from the first Sunday of Advent through Christmas Day, #AdventWord offers meditations and images to inspire and connect individuals and a worldwide community of believers to the themes of Advent. AdventWord provides visual and written meditations during the liturgical season of Advent. In 2020, Advent begins on Sunday, November 29. The written meditations will be provided in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and in American Sign Language on YouTube. Now more than ever, it is an act of Christian love to wear a face covering when you are away from your home. Please love your neighbor by wearing a mask, including whenever you come to our church buildings! We have masks available in the church office and at our outside worship services, just in case you get out the door without one. Please take care of yourselves and those you love by staying home if you feel unwell or have been exposed to Covid 19. Quarantine 14 days or obtain a negative test result before resuming contact.

Knowing that there will be quite a few parishioners who do not feel comfortable or safe coming to church yet, Deacon Noah and Mtr. Suz will be available to bring Holy Communion to your homes. We will share the Body and the Blood from Holy Trinity’s outdoor altar, observing careful distancing and masking. The preference is to conduct these Eucharistic Visits outdoors, as much as possible. Please call Sheryl at the church office to request a visit. She will inform the clergy, and one of us will be in touch to schedule an appointment. |

"The quantity of food we are offered is staggering. Stocked refrigerators and pantries, large restaurant servings; "over-sized," "family-sized," "super-sized," "share-sized" packaging, What if we spent 1 week eating 1/2 of what we normally would? And if still hungry (do we even know what that is anymore?) eat a piece of fresh fruit and drink a glass of water. Hmmm...Food for thought."

Try eating 1/2 sizes and change your ways. You'll be glad you did!

Advent Adult Formation: E’en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come |
The Church’s liturgical year begins with the season of Advent. This season invites us to turn inward and examine ourselves, our souls, in preparation for encountering Christ. Advent focuses our preparation specifically on expectation and anticipation—living into the season of Advent should bring us into a state of awe and wonder as we consider, not just in our minds, but also in our hearts, the marvelous thing that God is about to do, for us, among us, and within us. Mtr. Suz will lead three sessions on Thursday evenings in December exploring the gifts of the Advent season as we reflect on Lord Jesus who was, and is, and is to come. The dates for these sessions are 12/3, 12/10, and 12/17. Click on the link below and follow the prompts.

We're Here for You Holy Trinity is working hard to stay connected and provide support through the trials of pandemic restrictions. The Vestry and Neighborhood Group Leaders continue to reach out to parishioners in their areas regularly. Please contact your Neighborhood Group Leaders or the church office if you have any need, and we will do our best to help you out. Clemson Community Care has a need for the following food items: mixed vegetables, juice, and cereal. Toiletry needs are baby wipes, tooth paste, toothbrushes, shampoo, lotion,and any other items you wish.
Donations may be dropped off to the purple bin on the Purkerson's front porch (111 Dogwood Terrace Lane, Clemson) or taken directly to CCC (105 Anderson Hwy, Clemson) around back of the building before 11:00am any morning Monday through Thursday.
If you would prefer to make a monetary donation to enable CCC to buy food or help the community in other ways you can send a check to CCC, PO Box 271, Clemson SC 29633 or make an online donation via PayPal or credit card at clemsoncommunitycare.org. There Is a Need for Gift Cards |
The Coronavirus has impacted all of us and has implications for the families supported at Family Promise. At the moment JoAnn Brink, Case Manager for Family Promise, is working with a few families. JoAnn said there is a need for Gift cards to local grocery stores, gift cards for gas, and gift cards to local restaurants are needed. FYI the Easley Walmart does not have a gas station connected to the store. Gift cards can be mailed directly to Family Promise of Pickens County, c/o JoAnn Brink, 104 Stewart Drive, Easley, SC 29640. We will keep everyone informed.
We hope to count on your support for Family Promise of Pickens County. Our churches are not open for hosting families. We are also reaching out to you as there is a need for a fund for keeping vehicles that belong to families in our program on the road. Families must have a vehicle to be in our program. A car is needed to transport children to day care and afterschool care. Checks can be made payable to Family Promise of Pickens County in the memo line Car Fund. Our Daily Rest homeless shelter in Seneca sends their thank you's to Holy Trinity for all your generous donations. At this time during Covid, especially needed are your prayers, and donations of Men's pants sizes 32 and 34,
twin sheets, flat and fitted, fresh clothes for the folks at Our Daily Bread who come to the portable shower van, and cash donations are always good too. Many thanks again from Our Daily Rest.

Help Is Needed in the Thrift Shop |
The Thrift Shop has 2 openings: the 1st Monday of the Month and the 5th Monday (only 4 per year) of the Month from 10am to 12:30pm. After over 75 years, we are going to miss our traditional annual Holy Trinity bazaar this year – at least in person. However, we will offer some of the favorite items on line. First will be the church mice that include a procession of choristers, bishops, priests, deacons, crucifers, acolytes, vergers, and thurifers. Plus we have angels and cheerleaders – both Clemson and that other state school... Each mouse requires hours of loving hand-crafting so quantities are limited. Cost is $25 each. For your own American girl – or other 18” doll – we offer these lovely handmade items. Whether she's headed to a fancy party, to her workout, or to snuggle into bed, we have something special. Most include shoes or boots and accessories, and most complete outfits are $25. Nearly all are one-of-a-kind originals, we do have a few others not pictured, but when they’re gone, they’re gone.
