Our next meeting (November 15th) will be the last for 2021! Where has the time gone? We have an amazing speaker and the budget to discuss. Please come, join us!
We are going to try to coordinate with Keep The Heat On to make sure we don’t take away from that amazing cause. Depending on their event, we will either have our first meeting of 2022 in January or February. Either way, it will be the Fourth Wednesday of the month.
As many of you know, I will not be seeking re-election to the PAD Board in the Spring. But I will stay involved. PAD has a LOT on its plate. Filling 3 seats on the Board, Fundraising, Learning our Redistricted Map, Candidate Recruitment, Securing an Office for the Elections, Organizing, Door knocking, Phone Calls, Text Banks, Campus Recruitment, Events, the list is LONG. I know I’m ready to help. I hope you will too.
We can’t take back the losses from 2020 without a collective effort. So, this is where I tell a truth. Most of you stopped showing up. COVID, and off year, priorities, whatever. We need more involvement. PAD is not just its Board. Its
Board is simply here to help facilitate the energy of our members. The energy in 2021 was pretty flat. No one person is going to turn this around. We all must start engaging. Stop making plans on PAD meeting nights. Start attending Visibility.
Trump is gone, but what is left behind is just as bad. Our legislator is defunding
education, severely limiting abortion, attacking the right to vote, trying to rewrite history, gerrymandering, science, and climate denying, fear mongering,
encouraging hate speech, promoting conspiracy theories, the list is too long. We had a single target in Trump. The challenge is greater now. Hope, Justice,
Community, Science and Love MUST be fought for. History is and has always been written by those who show up.
