Spring Cleaning
Keeping Your Home Looking Fresh and New
Spring always brings about one of the most time-honored traditions: Spring Cleaning! A chore that recognizes the warmer weather, green leaves, nights outdoors, and barbeques are coming soon.

We recommend washing your log home exterior at least once per year, and Spring is one of the best times to clean. After the fall and winter, colder weather, and the beginning of pollen season, your log home has lots of dirt, grime, and pollen. This can hide or promote nasty rot, bugs, and other undesirable issues.

With the arrival of Spring, we will walk you through our recommended process for making sure your home keeps looking great for a long time. From cleaning, to inspection, to evaluating your log home finish, we'll prepare you with a system that's easy to follow.
Log Wash helps keep your log home clean and looking fresh. A simple method to prevent nasty, dirty build-up.

How Borates Protect Wood

For the past 25-plus years, the most accepted and effective method for preventing infestations of wood destroying insects and decay fungi in log homes has been by impregnating the wood with a solution containing the element boron.

Boron salts are referred to as borates and the most commonly used borate utilized for this purpose is disodium octaborate tetrahydrate (DOT), the active ingredient found in Armor-Guardâ„¢, Shell-Guard® and Shell-Guard RTU.
