Let's Celebrate!
At our Annual Celebration on March 25, we honored how we LIVE UNITED, even when facing a year of uncertainty and disruption. It was a celebration unlike any other we've had but just as special. We were excited to thank our volunteers, donors, Board members, and partners for another great year. If you missed the event, check out the video below.

2020 challenged us as individuals and as a region, but because of the generosity of our community members, we were able to accomplish great things together. See how we are BETTER UNITED in our annual report.
Our Board of Directors is full of incredible community members sharing their insights, perspectives, and time to help further our mission. We want to specifically thank our Board of Directors members who have rolled off of our Board this year for all of their service: Paul Chambers, Evan Elder, Robert Griffith, Mike Hackett, Jean Mullis, and Beth Patrick.
Thank you for all you have done for the community and for your time with United Way of Northeast Georgia!
Board Spotlight: Dr. Lisa Vaughn
Dr. Lisa Vaughn, currently the Assistant Principal at Malcom Bridge Middle School in Oconee County, has always been passionate about the education and opportunities for learning for our children. A native of Commerce, Dr. Vaughn has dedicated her career to teaching in the Northeast Georgia area. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Vaughn is active in her church through the music, student and women's ministries.

Dr. Vaughn cares deeply for the Northeast Georgia region and its young community members. She has worked closely with the Oconee County Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program, ensuring more children have books in their homes from birth. We were excited to have Dr. Vaughn join our board in 2020 and appreciate her work, perspective and passion for our neighbors.
All-Call for Grant Reviewers
opportunity_words.jpg
It is time again to start reviewing our grant applications! United Way of Northeast Georgia is seeking volunteers for its Impact Review Panels for the 2022 grant cycle. These individuals leverage their insight and experience to review grant applications, perform virtual site visits, and make recommendations to the Community Impact Committee. There are three review panels which correspond to the Community Impact Focus Areas: Early Childhood Success, Workforce Development, and Basic Needs. Each group has 15 members with lived experience, interest and/or expertise in that area. Each volunteer will serve on only one of these committees at a time, and the commitment is only for one review cycle. All trainings, review, and decision meetings will be done virtually/remotely in May.
