No Parking in Bike Lane Ordinance Passed
On October 14, 2020, Houston City Council adopted an ordinance prohibiting vehicles from stopping, standing, or parking in bike lanes, helping ensure bike lanes remain safe and accessible to bicyclists of all ages and abilities.

Warnings and educational flyers will be given for the first 90 days, after which a citation with a $100 fine will be issued on first offense. Drivers will have the option to take an online Bicycle Friendly Driver Training Class in lieu of paying the fine on first offense.

A few highlights:

North Main bike lane design is almost complete, funded by District H Council Member Karla Cisneros.

Phase 1 of Spring Branch Management District's Centerpoint Easement Trail is complete and ready to ride from Wirt to Blalock.

A five-mile segment of Sims Bayou Greenway is under construction by Houston Parks Board from Buffalo Speedway to Scott Street. 
Houston BCycle Launches E-Bikes
Houston BCycle will be launching 100 new e-bikes by the end of 2020, adding 25 bikes per week for the next four weeks. Find an e-bike near you using BCycle's map or app!
Livable Places Project Underway
