NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS: MIAMI TOWNSHIP ELECTRIC POWER AND NATURAL GAS AGGREGATION 
PLANS OF OPERATION AND GOVERNANCE

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Sections 4928.20(C) and 4929.26(C) of the Ohio Revised Code that the Miami Township Board of Trustees will hold two separate public hearings on the Miami Township Electric Power and Natural Gas Aggregation Plans of Operation and Governance.

The first public meeting will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 4 p.m., and the second public meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 5:15 p.m. Both meetings will take place at the Miami Township Administration Building, located at 2700 Lyons Road, Miamisburg, Ohio, 45342.

The Miami Township Electric Power and Natural Gas Aggregation Plans of Operation and Governance describe the policies and procedures by which Miami Township will carry out township electric and natural gas aggregation programs, including those policies and procedures relating to rates and customer service.

Questions about these two public hearings may be directed to Joe Garrett, Miami Township Energy Consultant, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 877-861-2772.
Public Works Director Mayberry retires
Schweickart promoted to fill role
Miami Township announces the retirement of Public Works Director Daniel Mayberry after 31-years of service to our community. The Board of Trustees is expected to name John Schweickart, also a longtime employee, as public works director at the June 7 meeting.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we thank Dan Mayberry for his years of selfless service to Miami Township. He has shown great leadership and we often receive compliments about the effectiveness of the Public Works Department. Dan has tough shoes to fill, but we are certain John Schweickart is up to the task,” Terry Posey, Jr., board president, said.
Longtime PD employee retires
Leah O'Malley is retiring after 31 years of service to the police department. As accreditation manager, Leah was instrumental in the department achieving accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). She also coordinated the National Night Out festivities each year. Chief Stiegelmeyer awarded Leah a Meritorious Service medal in 2021.

Manufacturing/Technology Career Fair June 6
Miami Township is proud to be a community partner for an upcoming Career Fair at the Miami Township branch library. Ohio to Work, along with Sinclair College, are holding the fair that focuses on manufacturing and technology jobs. Experts will be on hand to discuss the industry and about a dozen companies will be there. The fair is June 6, 4-7 p.m., 2718 Lyons Road. This free event is open to the community.
Cancer Crush 5K to close local street
Southbrook Church is hosting the Cancer Crush 5K on Saturday, June 11, at 8:30 a.m. The event raises funds for Cancer Hope, a cancer support group. Several township roads will be affected during the run/walk, including a short closure of Spring Valley Pike between Washington Church and Hunt Drive, while participants run/walk through.
